Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about With Back Bar Stools before you buy.
Measure the distance from the floor to the underside of your bar counter. Subtract 10 to 12 inches to find the ideal seat height for your stools to ensure comfortable legroom.
The primary difference is height. Bar stools typically have a seat height of 28 to 32 inches for standard bars, while counter stools sit lower, usually between 24 and 26 inches, for kitchen islands.
Stools with backs offer superior ergonomic support for long periods of sitting, making them ideal for dining. Backless stools are better for small spaces as they can tuck completely under the counter when not in use.
For maximum longevity, look for metal frames and treated wood or high-density commercial-grade upholstery. These materials resist wear from frequent movement and cleaning.
Swivel stools provide greater ease of movement and accessibility, allowing you to turn toward a conversation or the kitchen without moving the entire base. Stationary stools offer a more grounded, stable feel.
For fabric seats, use a vacuum attachment weekly to prevent debris buildup. For faux leather or vinyl, a damp microfiber cloth is usually sufficient to wipe away spills and maintain the finish.
Yes, mixing styles can create a curated, designer look. To keep it cohesive, ensure the stools share a common element, such as a similar metal finish or a consistent color palette.
