Best Fabric Carpet Cleaners in 2026

Roborock's Qrevo S Pro turns floor care into something you genuinely forget about. The 18,500Pa suction pulls pet hair and cat litter out of carpets without complaint, and the anti-tangle brush means you're not cutting hair off the roller every week. What sold me is the dock: it empties dust into a sealed bag that lasts nearly two months, washes the mops in 167°F water, then dries them so they never sit damp. Mops lift 10mm over rugs, and the 3.8-inch body slides under the sofa. At 55 dB it's quiet enough to run while the kids nap. The catch? 2.4GHz WiFi only.

JELLYPIG built this stick vacuum around one genuinely useful idea: it stands on its own. Set it down mid-sweep to take a call or shift a chair, and it stays upright instead of tipping into a wall or spilling dust. The 650W brushless motor pushes suction up to 55,000Pa, enough to lift pet hair and crumbs out of carpet and off hard floors, while the V-shaped roller uses a guide comb to cut and clear hair rather than wrap it. Runtime stretches to 70 minutes on the lowest setting, and the touch screen lets you bump suction, check charge, and see when the filter needs attention. Empty the cup after each run to keep pull consistent.

Eureka's WhirlWind canister vacuum does the deep-cleaning work most stick vacs simply can't, and it does it without much fuss. The 1000W motor delivers a real 16kPa of suction, so embedded pet hair in carpet and crumbs on hard floors vanish on the first pass. Under 17 pounds and steered by a swivel head, it follows you around furniture easily, while the 17-foot retractable cord cuts down on outlet hunting. I especially like the stepless suction knob: dial it back for quieter passes over curtains, crank it up for the garage. Sealed three-stage HEPA filtration captures 99.9% of dust down to 0.3 microns, and the 2L bin with washable filters means no bags to buy.

The Shark Navigator Lift-Away solves the two chores most uprights punt on: stairs and pet hair. Step on the release pedal and the motorized pod lifts free, instantly turning a full-size vacuum into a carry-around cleaner for stair treads, couch cushions, and overhead corners. Suction holds strong across carpet and hard floor, and the sealed HEPA system traps over 99.99% of dust and allergens rather than blowing them back into the room. Swivel steering makes it easy to negotiate table legs and doorways, and the bagless dust cup empties without a wrestling match. The Pet Multi-Tool and crevice tool handle upholstery and tight edges, while suction controls sit right on the ergonomic handle.

The Miele Guard M1 Parquet XL makes a convincing case that bagged canisters still belong in a modern home. Its XL Parquet Twister brush glides over tile and hardwood without scratching, while the AllTeQ universal floorhead switches to low-pile carpet with a tap of the footswitch, so you never bend down mid-clean. Suction comes from a 1200W German-engineered motor with four power levels you change by foot, and the AirClean Plus filter keeps exhaust air genuinely clean. HyClean bags, made with 80% recycled material, seal shut for dust-free disposal. The EasySlide wand adjusts to your height, three tools ride onboard, and a 36-foot radius means far fewer outlet hops. It stays quiet, too.

Upright vacuums rarely feel this effortless. At 8.4 pounds, this bagless model glides across carpet and hard floors without the wrist ache heavier machines leave behind, and the 25-foot cord stretches far enough to cover a room or two before you go hunting for an outlet. The 1.7-liter dust cup swallows a surprising amount of debris, and the quick-release button dumps it cleanly into the trash. Crevice and upholstery tools store onboard for stairs, cushions, and baseboards, while the detachable handle helps you reach spots the full upright can't. The washable filter keeps maintenance simple and costs down — rinse it, let it dry, and you're back in business.

Hoover's Superior Lite Commercial Upright weighs just nine pounds, yet it's built to handle the deep-down grit that wears out lighter machines. The 40-foot cord means far fewer outlet hunts in long hallways and open commercial spaces, and wall bumpers keep the housing from scuffing baseboards and furniture legs as you maneuver around them. The 10.5-quart bag holds a substantial amount before you swap it out, and the Endurolife belt is made to survive routine abuse rather than snap mid-job. It's a bagged upright aimed at carpet and hard floor alike — powerful, light enough to carry up stairways, and genuinely simple to live with day to day.

Sanitaire built the Response for people who vacuum for a living, and it shows in every detail. The standout trick is Surface Sense, which uses sonar to read the floor underfoot and dial the brush roll speed up or down — stiff bristles bite into carpet, then soften for hard floors without you touching a single setting. Built-in lights trace the path ahead so dim corners don't hide debris, and the detachable wand with onboard tools handles baseboards and furniture. It's bagless, so there's no bag to keep buying, and the machine stays light enough to steer around chair legs. Commercial-grade motors and tough plastics round out a vacuum clearly made to be used hard, day after day.

Pet hair is this vacuum's whole personality, and that's a good thing. The Hoover WindTunnel Swivel Pet pairs a Tangle Guard brush roll that resists hair wrap up to 16 inches with suction Hoover rates at 60 percent stronger than a comparable model, so carpets and hard floors both get a real pass. The swivel steering makes it easy to snake around furniture legs without wrestling the handle, and the lightweight body means hauling it up stairs isn't a chore. Surface litter disappears in fewer passes, which matters when you're chasing crumbs and kibble. The built-in extension wand and specialty tools handle upholstery and stairs too. It's corded, bagless, and ready for a house full of shedding.

Shark's Freestyle Max makes the case that a cordless upright doesn't have to be a compromise. At under seven pounds, it's the lightest cordless upright in the line, so hauling it up stairs or chasing crumbs under the table stops feeling like a chore. The two-speed brushroll shifts between deep carpet agitation and a gentler bare-floor mode, and LED headlights up front catch pet hair and debris that overhead lighting tends to hide. A larger removable dust cup means fewer trips to the bin, and emptying it is genuinely hands-free. The charging dock keeps the unit upright and topped off between cleans. It won't replace a full-size plug-in for heavy weekly vacuuming, but for everyday messes it's hard to beat.

Pet hair has met its match in the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Allergen Lift-Off. The suction is genuinely strong, and the tangle-free brushroll means you're not stopping mid-room to saw fur off the roller with scissors. What sold me is the Lift-Off pod: the canister detaches in seconds, so stairs, car seats, and the crevice between the couch cushions stop being a chore you avoid. The HEPA-sealed system traps dust allergens instead of blowing them back into the room, which matters if anyone in the house sneezes through spring. Scatter-free technology keeps hard floors from turning into a kibble-launching contest, and the one-touch dirt tank empties without a cloud of dust.
