Decorative fencing serves as the bridge between functional boundary setting and intentional landscape design. Unlike heavy-duty security fencing or utilitarian garden borders, coarbor decorative fences are chosen primarily for their aesthetic contribution to a property's curb appeal. Whether you are looking to define a flower bed, create a visual partition between a patio and a lawn, or add a touch of classic elegance to a walkway, the right decorative fence acts as a frame for your outdoor living space. Selecting the perfect piece requires balancing material durability with the specific architectural style of your home.

COARBOR 6' x 50' Privacy Fence Screen with Brass Grommets Heavy Duty 150 GSM Pefect for Outdoor Back Yard Patio and DarkGreen
DURABLE- Our Coarbor fence material is made of 100 % high density HDPE which is 150 GSM heavy duty. With this material it will not tear or rip under normal weather conditions. Comes with a black trim that provides extra durability.
SPECIFICATIONS- The size fencing we have comes in multiple options as well as the color choices. The black trim around the edges is 1.5' reducing fray and making it last longer than others. This fencing material provides up to 90% blockage ensuring you have the privacy you need.
STABILITY- Compared to aluminum grommets, we provide our customers with copper grommets. This type of metal has better oxidization resistance and durability. There is a one inch diameter between the grommets in each CORNER versus others that only place one in the corner. This will ensure that your fence screen is stable.
EASY INSTALLATION- Please note that tie down materials are not included. However, installation is simple and can be done with one person. Use zip ties, bungee cords, cable ties or rope to secure the fencing to your porch fence, deck, railing, or chain-link fence. Just run them through the grommet, secure tie down, and cut off access.
IDEAL USES- Our Coarbor fencing material is ideal for small spaces where you need privacy. Such as apartments, condos and town homes. Place them on your railings for privacy or hang them above for shade. These can be used as multi use. Take them down when not in use to prolong its lifetime.
The COARBOR Privacy Fence Screen sets a high bar for outdoor seclusion with its incredibly robust 150 GSM high-density HDPE construction. I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail in the hardware. Instead of standard aluminum, this screen utilizes brass grommets that offer superior oxidation resistance against the elements. The inclusion of a 1.5-inch black reinforced trim prevents the fraying that typically plagues cheaper mesh options, while the 90% blockage rate makes it a game-changer for apartment balconies or cramped townhome patios. Installation is a breeze for a single person, though you will need to grab your own zip ties or bungee cords to get it secured. It is a heavy-duty solution that feels built to survive the seasons without tearing.

A Guide to Selecting the Best coarbor decorative fences
Material Composition and Longevity
The first decision in selecting a decorative fence is determining the material, as this dictates both the maintenance requirements and the visual 'weight' of the installation. Metal options, such as wrought iron or powder-coated steel, offer a timeless, high-end look that provides structure without obstructing views. These are ideal for formal gardens. On the other hand, composite and resin materials are gaining popularity because they mimic the texture of wood while being entirely immune to rot, insect damage, and UV fading. If you prefer a rustic or farmhouse aesthetic, treated wood remains a staple, though it requires periodic staining or sealing to prevent warping and silvering over time.
Design Style and Visual Weight
Decorative fences are meant to complement, not overpower, your existing landscape. When browsing, consider the 'visual weight' of the design. A fence with thin, delicate pickets or intricate scrollwork creates an airy, open feel that is perfect for small urban gardens or narrow pathways where you want to maintain a sense of spaciousness. Conversely, a thicker, more solid decorative panel can serve as a more effective privacy screen or a bold architectural statement. Match the geometry of the fence to your home's architecture: sharp, clean lines work well with modern builds, while curved or ornate patterns suit traditional or cottage-style properties.
Installation Type and Ground Stability
How you intend to install the fence is just as important as how it looks. Many decorative fences are designed as 'stake-in-ground' models, which are incredibly easy to install in soft soil or garden beds. However, these may shift over time due to frost heave or heavy rain. If you require a more permanent solution, look for modular systems that allow for post-anchoring in concrete or mounting to existing hardscapes like stone pavers or wooden decks. Always check the depth of the stakes or the mounting hardware included to ensure they are compatible with your specific soil type—sandy soil requires wider footprints, while rocky soil may require pre-drilling.
Scale and Proportion
A common mistake in decorative fencing is choosing a height that is out of proportion with the area it is meant to define. For garden edging, a low-profile fence (6 to 12 inches) is sufficient to guide the eye and prevent foot traffic from entering planting zones. For patio enclosures or separating a yard from a sidewalk, a medium-height fence (24 to 36 inches) provides a psychological boundary without feeling claustrophobic. If you go too high with a decorative fence, it begins to function as a privacy fence, which may defeat the purpose of a 'decorative' element intended to showcase your landscaping.
Maintenance and Weather Resistance
Before finalizing your purchase, evaluate the climate of your region. If you live in a coastal area with high salt content in the air, avoid low-grade metals that are prone to rapid oxidation. Instead, opt for high-quality aluminum or heavy-duty powder coatings. In high-humidity environments, resin or composite materials are superior to wood to prevent mold and mildew growth. A truly smart purchase is one that aligns your aesthetic desires with the reality of your local weather patterns, ensuring the fence looks as good in five years as it does on the day of installation.

Quick answers about Coarbor Decorative Fences before you buy.
Metal, such as wrought iron or powder-coated steel, is ideal for durability and classic aesthetics, while composite materials offer a low-maintenance, modern look that resists rot and fading.
Height depends on your goal: 12 to 18 inches is perfect for defining flower beds, while 3 to 4 feet works better for creating a visual boundary for walkways or small pet areas.
While they won't stop large dogs, sturdy metal or thick plastic decorative fences are excellent for preventing smaller pets from trampling delicate seedlings and flowers.
Yes, most decorative fences use ground spikes or stakes. For softer soil, look for models with wider base stakes to ensure they remain upright and stable.
Most modern decorative metal fences come with a powder-coated finish that is rust-resistant. You only need to repaint if the coating becomes chipped or scratched over time.
Border fences are low-profile and designed for visual accentuation and defining spaces, whereas privacy fences are much taller and designed to obstruct sightlines.
For most materials, a simple wash with mild soap and water using a soft brush or garden hose is sufficient to remove dirt, pollen, and debris.
