The five vertical sections are spaced perfectly at two inches wide, making it effortless to slide expanding files in and out without a struggle. Because of the powder coat finish, you don't have to worry about unsightly scratches or chipping from daily use. It is a no-assembly-required solution that looks just as sharp in a corporate mailroom as it does on a kitchen counter.

A Guide to Selecting the Best Safco Drawer Organizers
Measure Twice, Organize Once
The most common mistake in drawer organization is purchasing bins that do not maximize the available footprint. Before browsing, you must obtain the internal dimensions of your drawer: width, depth, and most importantly, height. Many high-quality organizers are designed with low profiles to accommodate shallow vanity or desk drawers, while others are deeper for utility drawers. If your organizer is even a fraction of an inch too tall, the drawer will not close, rendering the product useless. We recommend measuring the clearance from the bottom of the drawer to the underside of the drawer above it to ensure you have enough vertical space for your tallest items.
Material Durability and Aesthetic Integration
The material of your organizer dictates both its longevity and its suitability for specific rooms. Safco offers a variety of textures and compositions that serve different purposes:
Plastic and Acrylic: These are the workhorses of organization. They are easy to wipe clean, moisture-resistant, and ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, or craft rooms where spills might occur. Clear acrylic is particularly effective for visual clarity, allowing you to see the contents without lifting the bin.
Mesh and Metal: Often found in office settings, mesh organizers provide excellent airflow and a professional, industrial aesthetic. They are highly durable and better suited for heavy items like staplers, paperclips, or metal tools.
Modular Trays: Look for sets that offer modularity. The best organizers are not fixed single units but collections of varying sizes that can be rearranged like a puzzle to fit your specific inventory.
Functionality Based on Content Type
Not all organizers are created equal. The 'why' behind your organization should dictate the 'what' of your purchase. If you are organizing office supplies, look for compartments with high sides to prevent pens and clips from migrating. For kitchen cutlery, prioritize long, narrow trays that align with standard utensil lengths. If you are tackling a junk drawer, seek out multi-compartment bins with a mix of large and small voids to accommodate everything from batteries to rubber bands. The goal is to minimize 'dead space'—those empty gaps where items can slide around and create noise when the drawer is opened.
Stability and Non-Slip Features
A premium organizer should stay in place. There is nothing more frustrating than a tray that slides to the back of the drawer every time you pull it open. When evaluating options, look for organizers with rubberized feet, non-slip liners, or weighted bases. If the model you prefer lacks these features, consider pairing it with adhesive drawer liners to create a custom, high-friction environment. A stable organizer maintains the integrity of your system, ensuring that every item has a designated 'home' that remains consistent over time.
