Most premium dog foods rely heavily on legumes to bulk up their protein counts, but Earthborn Holistic takes a different path by remaining completely pea-free. This distinction is a game-changer for owners looking to avoid lentils and other legumes in their large breed pet's diet. Instead, this recipe leans on high-quality chicken protein, which serves a dual purpose by providing natural glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate for joint support. I love that it incorporates nutrient-dense superfoods like blueberries, cranberries, and flaxseed alongside digestible whole grains like pearled barley and oatmeal. It feels like a thoughtful, small-batch approach, especially knowing it is produced in a fourth-generation, family-owned US kitchen. The addition of taurine for heart health makes this a comprehensive choice for big dogs needing extra structural and cardiovascular support.
