The vibrant purple handle immediately catches your eye, but the real strength lies in the heavy-duty 3CR13 stainless steel construction. This ASR Tactical fixed blade is built as a single, solid piece of metal from tip to pommel, providing the kind of rugged durability you need for heavy use. I found the spear point design particularly impressive because the tip aligns perfectly with the center of the blade, making it exceptionally effective for piercing or even throwing. Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Plastic Fixed Blade Knives before you buy.
Plastic fixed blades are primarily used for training, prop work, or lightweight utility tasks where a metal edge is prohibited. They are lightweight, non-conductive, and ideal for cosplay or simulated combat training.
No. While high-quality polymers can handle light slicing or spreading, they are not designed for chopping, prying, or heavy-duty survival tasks. They are prone to snapping under high lateral pressure.
You can dull or refine the edge slightly using fine-grit sandpaper, but they do not hold a razor-sharp edge like steel. They are generally considered disposable or single-use items.
Yes, many plastic blades are specifically designed for martial arts training or 'force-on-force' drills to minimize the risk of injury compared to metal counterparts.
Clean them with mild soap and warm water. Avoid harsh solvents or high heat, as these can degrade the polymer and cause the material to become brittle or warp.
While they lack a metallic signature, they are still physical objects that can be detected by X-ray or visual inspection. Always check local regulations regarding simulated weapons.
Look for high-density polymers or reinforced nylon. These materials offer better impact resistance and structural integrity than cheap, brittle plastics.
