This handmade skinner is a top-tier contender for any serious survivalist or hunter looking for a reliable field tool. The 1095 high carbon steel blade hits a sweet spot with a lab-tested hardness of HRC 58-60, ensuring it holds a razor-sharp edge through demanding tasks. I found the 7-inch full tang construction feels incredibly sturdy in hand, especially with the textured Pakka Wood handle providing a secure grip. The inclusion of a hand-stitched, full-grain cowhide pancake sheath in a vibrant orange makes it easy to locate in your gear bag. Just remember that because it is carbon steel, you'll want to keep it lightly coated with coconut or mineral oil to prevent rust and maintain that lifetime durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Plastic Fixed Blade Knives before you buy.
Plastic fixed blades are primarily used for training, prop work, or lightweight utility tasks where a metal edge is prohibited. They are lightweight, non-conductive, and ideal for cosplay or simulated combat training.
No. While high-quality polymers can handle light slicing or spreading, they are not designed for chopping, prying, or heavy-duty survival tasks. They are prone to snapping under high lateral pressure.
You can dull or refine the edge slightly using fine-grit sandpaper, but they do not hold a razor-sharp edge like steel. They are generally considered disposable or single-use items.
Yes, many plastic blades are specifically designed for martial arts training or 'force-on-force' drills to minimize the risk of injury compared to metal counterparts.
Clean them with mild soap and warm water. Avoid harsh solvents or high heat, as these can degrade the polymer and cause the material to become brittle or warp.
While they lack a metallic signature, they are still physical objects that can be detected by X-ray or visual inspection. Always check local regulations regarding simulated weapons.
Look for high-density polymers or reinforced nylon. These materials offer better impact resistance and structural integrity than cheap, brittle plastics.
