Best Side Pocket Folding Chairs in 2026

Most beach gear forces you to choose between bulky comfort or annoying portability, but the Ostrich recliner manages to bridge that gap surprisingly well. I was impressed by how the design prioritizes actual relaxation through thoughtful details like the integrated face cavity and armholes, which make lying face-down in the sand feel natural rather than awkward. You can toggle through four different reclining positions to find your perfect angle, whether you are reading or napping. The standout feature for me is the backpack conversion. The built-in straps allow for hands-free trekking to your favorite lakeside spot. Between the secure zippered side pocket for small essentials and the large under-lounger storage bag for bulkier items, it effectively functions as a mobile relaxation station.

After weeks of use at various lakeside retreats, the thoughtful ergonomics of this Ostrich lounger have become my go-to for relaxation. The standout feature is the unique breast cavity design, which expands and contracts to provide tailored support regardless of body type. It feels incredibly intuitive, especially with the integrated pillow and arm slots that elevate the sunbathing experience. At just over ten pounds, the aluminum frame is remarkably easy to carry via the built-in strap, yet it feels sturdy enough to handle the elements. Whether I am adjusting the three reclining positions for a nap or using the quick-dry fabric after a swim, the comfort level remains consistent. It is a specialized piece of gear that prioritizes anatomical support without the bulk of traditional patio furniture.

Sunbathers who refuse to compromise on comfort while traveling need this Ostrich chaise lounge in their gear arsenal immediately. I was particularly impressed by the patented open/close face cavity. It includes dedicated arm holes and a pillow, which is a total game-changer for anyone who wants to nap comfortably while tanning. The lightweight aluminum frame makes it incredibly easy to lug from the patio to the lakeside, and the rust-resistant construction ensures it survives poolside splashes. Because the fabric is breathable and quick-drying, you won't feel stuck to a sweaty surface after a dip in the water. With three adjustable positions, you can transition from reading to lounging in seconds, making it a versatile staple for any summer outing.

Hauling bulky, awkward beach gear across hot sand is a struggle that this dual-product set aims to eliminate entirely. The RIO Gear backpack chair is a game-changer for mobility, featuring integrated straps that let you wear your seat like a pack while keeping your hands free for snacks or sunscreen. It offers a customizable, lay-flat design that transitions easily from a seated position to a lounge, plus a handy storage pouch for your essentials. Complementing this is the Ostrich Chaise Lounge, which utilizes a patented open/close face cavity and arm slots to provide a much more ergonomic experience than a standard flat towel. Between the lightweight portability and the four-position adjustment on the chaise, you can finally achieve true relaxation without the heavy lifting.

Sunseekers who demand total control over their lounging experience will find this dual-set absolutely indispensable for long beach days. The RIO Gear backpack chair is a game-changer for mobility, weighing only 8.5 lbs and featuring adjustable straps that turn a heavy seat into a comfortable carry-on.
