Best Metal Folding Knives in 2026

Most budget-friendly everyday carry tools feel like cheap plastic toys, but the Vickay folding knife relies on a surprisingly tactile rose wood handle that changes the entire experience. At just 3.67 ounces, it is incredibly lightweight for a utility knife, yet the solid wood grip provides a secure, comfortable hold that synthetic materials often lack. The 3.74-inch stainless steel blade deploys with a smooth, one-handed action, and once open, the liner lock system keeps everything rock-solid without any annoying blade wiggle. I found the closing mechanism particularly clever. Rather than fighting the blade, you just use the curved metal tip to guide it back into the handle effortlessly. Whether you are slicing through packages at home or prepping gear for a camping trip, this tool balances classic aesthetics with reliable safety.

Budget-conscious adventurers who value aesthetic character over heavy-duty tactical bulk will find this Vickay pocket knife to be a surprisingly capable companion. The zebra wood handle isn't just for show. It provides a tactile, secure grip that feels much more premium than its price tag suggests. I was particularly impressed by the half-serrated 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade, which handles everything from slicing through stubborn cordage to precise package opening with ease. The liner lock system feels robust, effectively preventing any blade wiggle during use, while the integrated pocket clip keeps it tucked away securely in your jeans. At just 78g, it is lightweight enough for daily carry without feeling like a burden in your pocket.

Whether I was slicing through thick cordage or breaking down cardboard boxes, the cutting ability felt sharp and reliable. The liner lock mechanism provides a rock-solid hold that eliminates any worrying blade wiggle, making it feel much safer than its price point suggests. It deploys smoothly and clips easily onto a belt or backpack, making it a genuinely versatile tool for everything from camping trips to simple daily errands.
