Best 44 Mens Shorts in 2026

Athletes who demand high-intensity breathability without the heavy, sweat-soaked weight of standard gym gear need these Hat and Beyond mesh shorts in their rotation immediately. I put these to the test during heavy boxing and basketball drills, and the premium polyester mesh layering really stands out for providing a soft finish that doesn't chafe during movement. The moisture-wicking fabric does its job efficiently, keeping you dry when the workout heats up. I particularly liked the elastic waistband paired with the inner drawstring, which ensures the shorts stay securely in place whether you are sprinting or jumping. They are incredibly versatile, functioning just as well for a casual weekend as they do for a rigorous gym session, especially given the wide range of sizes available.

Big and tall men who are tired of flimsy, thin summer wear need these heavy-duty cargo shorts in their rotation immediately. The first thing you notice is the substantial weight of the premium cotton fabric, which feels much more rugged and durable than your standard lightweight shorts. The paisley pattern adds a sophisticated edge that makes them versatile enough for a casual dinner or a weekend hike. I particularly like the practical details, such as the double-stitched side pockets with secure hook and loop closures that keep your essentials from sliding out. The inclusion of a woven D-ring belt and adjustable drawstrings on the leg openings ensures a customized, secure fit that holds up throughout a busy day.
