Best Motion Outdoor Step Lights in 2026

Six solar lights that survive a full winter without dimming into sad little embers is a taller order than it sounds, and this Aootek pack mostly delivers. Each unit packs 120 LEDs behind a 270-degree reflector, so light spreads across a step or doorframe instead of firing one narrow beam. The PIR eye catches movement up to 26 feet out and holds high brightness for 15 seconds before easing back. I left the third mode running — a faint all-night glow that jumps to full when someone walks up. The monocrystalline panel charges quickly in direct sun and the IP65 housing shrugs off rain. Mounting is a drill, wall plug, and screw. Charge them 6–8 hours first.

The 2000 mAh battery and high-efficiency mono-crystalline silicon panels ensure they stay powered through the night, even after a day of charging. Installation is a breeze too, whether you prefer using the included screws for a permanent mount or the 3M tape for a quick setup. They feel rugged enough to handle heavy rain thanks to the IP65 waterproof rating.
