Best Wood Picture Frames in 2026

Most people assume a heavy, ornate frame requires heavy-duty glass, but this West Frames piece relies on lightweight plexiglass to maintain its elegant French Country aesthetic without the unnecessary weight. The Dark Bronze finish provides a sophisticated, weathered look that fits perfectly into a Shabby Chic or traditional home setting. I was particularly impressed by the 2.5-inch width of the solid wood molding, which gives the artwork a substantial, high-end presence on the wall. Just be careful during the selection process. You have to specifically choose the option that includes the plexiglass and backing board, otherwise, you are just receiving the empty wooden shell. When configured correctly, the craftsmanship feels like it was designed to last for generations.
