For collectors and comfort-seekers alike, the world of Ty Squishmallows offers a unique blend of tactile satisfaction and character-driven charm. While the brand encompasses everything from sea creatures to mythical dragons, the bear category remains one of the most enduring and sought-after niches in the community. Whether you are looking for a small keychain companion to clip onto a backpack or a jumbo-sized huggable pillow for a bedroom makeover, choosing the right bear requires more than just picking a color. You need to understand the nuances of texture, rarity, and the specific 'vibe' that different bear iterations bring to a collection.

Our Top Picks for Ty Squishmallows
The three standouts our editors recommend first — ranked by performance, value, and real-world reviews.
Young Marvel enthusiasts need this Miles Morales plush in their collection immediately to capture that iconic Spider-Verse energy. This Ty plush brings the character to life in a compact, six-inch format that is perfect for small hands or displaying on a bedroom shelf. At this price point, it serves as an accessible entry into the world of superhero collectibles without breaking the bank. The size makes it incredibly portable, meaning it can easily transition from a bedside companion to an on-the-go adventure buddy during car rides. It is a straightforward, charming representation of the character that hits the sweet spot for both play and decor.
Can a single plush toy capture the excitement of a superhero saga? This Ty Spiderman plush brings that web-slinging energy straight to your toy collection through its iconic red and blue design. Being an official part of the legendary Beanie Babies collection, it carries that unmistakable quality we have come to expect from the brand. The handmade construction feels substantial, utilizing soft polyester fibers that make it perfect for both display and play. You can immediately spot the authenticity by looking for the signature heart-shaped tag, which serves as a seal of quality. Whether you are a lifelong collector looking to complete your set or just searching for a high-standard gift, this Spiderman plush delivers on the nostalgic charm that Ty is famous for.
Finding the perfect seasonal accent that balances spooky vibes with genuine cuteness is often a struggle for collectors. Ty's Mortimer bat solves this by leaning into a charming aesthetic rather than a frightening one. Standing at approximately 6 inches tall, this little companion features a striking black and orange color palette that makes it pop against any Halloween decor. The texture feels classic for a Beanie Baby, making it a tactile delight for kids or a nostalgic addition to a seasonal shelf display. It is a compact, festive piece that captures the spirit of the holiday without being overwhelming, making it a reliable choice for anyone looking to add a bit of whimsical darkness to their autumn setup.
A child’s bedside table feels instantly more cheerful once this little husky makes its debut. Thunder isn't just another plush. The striking contrast between the crisp white fur and the vibrant blue accents makes this 15 cm husky pop in any collection. I was particularly drawn to those blue glitter eyes, which catch the light beautifully and give the character a sense of life. At roughly 6 inches tall, he is the perfect size for small hands to carry around or for tucking into a backpack for adventures. Whether you are celebrating his March 13th birthday or just looking for a soft companion, this Beanie Baby brings a high-quality, whimsical charm to the toy box.
Poppy the Pink Koala makes the perfect companion for a cozy afternoon reading session on the sofa. This isn't your standard stiff stuffed animal. The Squish a Boo line is specifically designed with a soft, pillow-like texture that invites you to squeeze and cuddle. The vibrant pink fur is immediately eye-catching, especially when paired with those striking golden eyes and ears that give her so much personality. At 20 centimeters tall, she is a manageable, huggable size that fits comfortably in a child's hands or rests easily against a pillow. Whether you are celebrating a May 18th birthday or just adding a pop of color to a bedroom, this little koala brings a much-needed touch of softness to any space.
Collectors of ultra-soft, tactile comfort need the Ty Squish a Boo Bitsy in their lives immediately. This isn't just another standard stuffed animal. It functions as a delightful, pillow-like plush that is incredibly satisfying to squeeze. Bitsy stands at a compact 20 centimeters, making her the perfect size for lounging or traveling, and her vibrant purple fur is matched only by her adorable, sweet floppy ears. There is something uniquely charming about her specific personality, especially knowing her birthday falls on April 9th. Whether you are looking for a small companion to brighten a desk or a soft tactile tool for relaxation, this purple pup delivers on both cuteness and squishability.
A Guide to Selecting the Best Ty Squishmallow Bears
Understanding Sizes and Scale
The first decision factor in any Squishmallow purchase is the physical scale. Bear characters are released in a vast spectrum of dimensions, and the size you choose should align with its intended purpose. Small-scale bears (often under 5 inches) are perfect for desk decor or as 'travel buddies' that can fit into a pocket. Medium-sized bears (8 to 12 inches) are the standard for shelf display and are often the easiest to collect in large quantities without overwhelming your living space. However, if your goal is sensory comfort or a decorative accent for a bed, you should look toward the larger formats. Larger bears offer a higher density of stuffing, providing that signature 'marshmallow' squeeze that the brand is famous for, making them superior for lounging.
Texture and Fabric Consistency
Not all Squishmallows feel identical. While the brand aims for a consistent 'super soft' experience, there can be subtle variations in the spandex-polyester blend depending on the specific line or era of production. When shopping for bears, pay attention to the 'hand-feel.' Some collectors prefer the ultra-smooth, almost silky finish found in newer releases, while others hunt for the slightly more textured, velvety feel of older iterations. If you are buying for a child or someone with sensory sensitivities, consistency is key. A bear with uneven stitching or a lumpy filling can detract from the calming experience the brand is designed to provide.
Character Personality and Color Palettes
Unlike generic stuffed animals, Squishmallows are defined by their distinct personalities and colorways. Bear characters often fall into specific aesthetic categories: the 'Pastel Dream' bears, which feature soft pinks, lavenders, and mint greens. The 'Earth Tone' bears, which lean into browns, tans, and forest greens. And the 'Bright & Bold' bears, which use high-contrast colors to stand out. When building a collection, decide if you want a cohesive color story or a diverse spectrum. A collection of bears with matching pastel palettes looks intentional and curated on a display shelf, whereas a mix of bright colors can create a more playful, high-energy atmosphere in a playroom.
Rarity and Collectibility
For the serious enthusiast, the 'hunt' is part of the joy. Bear characters are often released in limited runs or as part of special seasonal collections. Some bears may feature unique patterns—such as star prints, polka dots, or even floral embroidery—that make them more desirable than the solid-colored versions. If you are looking for a centerpiece for your collection, prioritize bears with unique accessories or distinctive facial features (like different eye shapes or embroidered details). Keep in mind that 'core' characters—those that are frequently restocked—are great for casual fans, but 'special edition' bears are what drive the true value and excitement of the hobby.
Maintenance and Longevity
Because these bears are designed for hugging, they are prone to collecting dust and oils from skin. When selecting a bear, consider its color longevity. Lighter-colored bears (whites, creams, and pale pinks) will show signs of wear and staining much faster than darker, more saturated tones. To ensure your bear stays 'squishy' and soft, avoid high-heat drying, which can damage the synthetic fibers and cause the stuffing to clump. A gentle spot clean or a low-temperature machine wash in a laundry bag is the best way to preserve the integrity of the fabric over time.
