Best Franklin Sports Toy Sports Products in 2026

Most backyard sports toys are destined to sit in the garage the moment a single raindrop hits the grass, but the NERF Weather Blitz football is built to defy those limitations. I love how this doesn't force you to cancel plans just because the forecast looks grim. Whether you are dealing with slushy snow, damp mud, or a steady downpour, the water-resistant construction holds up beautifully. The standout feature is definitely the textured easy-grip design, which ensures the ball stays in a child's hands even when everything is soaking wet. It turns a gloomy afternoon into a legitimate opportunity for active play, making it a reliable staple for any kid who refuses to let the weather dictate their game time.

A soft foam football that actually holds up to a preschooler's arm strength is rarer than you'd think, and Nerf's 9-inch Pro Grip nails it. The semi-soft foam gives small hands something they can genuinely clamp onto and squeeze, so throws stay wobbly-but-forward instead of turning into frustration. It's light enough that a misjudged spiral won't rearrange the living room, which means indoor toss games are fair game on rainy afternoons, yet the build is still rugged enough for the backyard, the beach, or a tailgate where it inevitably gets dropped in the grass a dozen times. For a kid ages three and up just learning how a football feels, this is a smart, low-stakes starting point.

Most backyard sports gear is either too hard and intimidating for younger kids or too flimsy to actually catch, but the NERF N-Sports Turbo Jr. Football finds that elusive middle ground. I found that the design strikes a perfect balance by being incredibly durable for high-energy play while remaining soft enough to ensure safety during those inevitable collisions. It is built with high-quality, safe materials that have clearly been tested for long-term toughness, making it a reliable choice for various age groups. Whether you are playing in a park or just in the driveway, this football delivers awesome performance without the fear of injury. It is a straightforward, high-performance toy that lets kids play anytime and anywhere.

Can a tiny piece of foam really capture the adrenaline of a full-court press? The NERF Nerfoop proves that you don't need a regulation court to enjoy the thrill of the game. This set brings a nostalgic, high-energy experience to your living space by utilizing a simple hook-on design that turns any standard door into a makeshift arena. The 4-inch foam basketball is remarkably easy for smaller hands to grip and toss, making it accessible for kids of all skill levels. Whether you are setting it up in a bedroom or hanging it on a patio door for some fresh air, it offers a quick, portable way to burn off energy. It is a reliable, classic toy that has stood the test of time for nearly five decades.

Standard footballs are useless once they hit the water, but the Nerf Super Soaker Splasher Football turns a dry game into a high-stakes splash battle. I love how the rubbery exterior provides a precision grip that makes throwing and catching feel natural, even when your hands are wet. The real magic happens with the soakable foam core. If you pre-soak it, catching a pass results in an immediate, refreshing douse for your opponent. It is sized perfectly for kids at 6 inches, making it easy to handle during backyard drills or pool games. Since it actually floats, you won't be hunting for it at the bottom of the deep end. It is a durable, high-energy way to hone passing skills while keeping everyone soaked.

A backyard afternoon turns into a high-stakes championship game the moment a young slugger grips this 27-inch foam bat. I tested this set to see if it could actually handle the enthusiasm of a six-year-old, and the Proshot design holds up surprisingly well. The bat is sized perfectly for smaller hands to swing with genuine speed and power without feeling cumbersome. I particularly liked the soft foam grip, which provides a comfortable, non-slip handle that makes it easy for kids to maintain control during a big swing. Since the baseball itself is made of lightweight, soft foam, parents can breathe a sigh of relief knowing the play is safe and kid-friendly. It is an easy, all-in-one way to get kids moving and playing like the pros.
