Best Betem in 2026

Betem has secured a top-tier spot for DIY enthusiasts seeking versatility without the mess of traditional tubes. These markers stand out because of their upgraded cotton nibs, which allow for immediate use and faster drying times compared to standard push-type pens. I found the dual-tip configuration incredibly practical. The 1-5mm round nib handles broad color fills on canvas or wood, while the 1mm fine tip is perfect for intricate outlines and detailing. With 24 vibrant, opaque colors, you can move seamlessly between paper, stone, and even ceramics. The water-based ink is odorless and acid-free, making it a safe, professional-grade choice for everything from scrapbooking to rock painting. Just remember to store them horizontally to keep the ink flowing perfectly.

You might assume a budget-friendly set of markers won't hold up against professional grade supplies, but Betem's dual-tip design actually delivers surprising versatility. I was particularly impressed by the upgraded cotton nibs. Unlike the frustrating push-type pens that often clog, these flow smoothly and dry much faster. The combination of a 1-5mm round brush tip for filling large areas and a precise 1mm fine nib for detail work makes them incredibly functional for everything from rock painting to canvas art. The ink is opaque, water-based, and odorless, which is a huge plus for indoor crafting. Whether you are decorating ceramics or customizing a journal, these vibrant colors stay lively on almost any surface you throw at them.

Traditional paint brushes often create a mess when you are trying to tackle detailed DIY crafts or rock painting. These Betem acrylic markers solve that frustration by delivering the coverage of paint with the precision of a pen. The 36 vibrant colors are incredibly rich, and because they are water-based and waterproof once dry, they won't bleed or fade on surfaces like wood, glass, or canvas. Just remember that these aren't 'ready-to-go' out of the box. You need to shake them well and prime the 2mm medium nib on scrap paper to get the ink flowing. Once you master that quick startup, the smooth flow and fast-drying properties make them a joy for everything from customizing mugs to decorating Christmas ornaments.

Daniel Smith has redefined professional color palettes with Lunar Blue, a moody watercolor that is an absolute essential for any landscape artist. This isn't just another dark pigment. It features a sophisticated granulating lunar black that floats over a deep phthalo undertone, creating a texture that feels like the actual fabric of a night sky. I found that it behaves beautifully across different washes, acting as an inky midnight shade when concentrated or a diffused, semi-transparent veil when diluted. It leaves behind a subtle, atmospheric shadow rather than a heavy stain, making it perfect for capturing moonlit water or celestial gradients. Because it is formulated with high lightfastness and adheres to ASTM D4236 standards, you can trust that these ethereal nocturnal tones will remain vibrant on your paper for years to come.

Most artists assume a single green tube can handle an entire landscape, but the versatility of Daniel Smith's Hooker's Green is what actually makes that possible. This isn't a flat, synthetic-looking pigment. It is a warm, natural shade that behaves beautifully as a foundational color. Because it is semi-transparent and non-granulating, you can layer it with French Ultramarine to mimic everything from frothy ocean waves to deep, dusty evergreen shadows. It stays remarkably easy to work with due to its low to medium-staining properties, giving you more control over your washes. Whether you are mixing forest light or experimenting with adding India ink for depth, this 15ml tube offers a professional-grade reliability that fits perfectly into a serious studio kit.
