Best Buttendz in 2026

Most players assume a worn-out stick is a lost cause, but a simple grip swap can actually breathe new life into your gear. I spent some time testing the Buttendz Flux Z, and the first thing that hits you is how much better control feels when you aren't fighting a slick shaft. This reusable rubber grip isn't just about adding texture. It’s about regaining that tactile connection to the puck during high-intensity plays. The Black/Fire Drip aesthetic is a nice touch for those who want their equipment to look as aggressive as their playstyle. At roughly twenty-five dollars, it’s a much smarter investment than shelling out for an entirely new composite stick every time your current one loses its tackiness.

The Buttendz Fusion Z Hockey Stick Replacement Grip offers a level of sustainability rarely seen in sports accessories thanks to its reusable rubber construction. Instead of tossing out tape every time your stick feels slick, this Blue/White Drip design provides a reliable, long-lasting tactile surface that stays put during intense play. The rubber material feels substantial in the hand, giving you much better control over your shots and stick handling without the constant mess of traditional adhesive wraps. It is a smart, eco-friendly upgrade for any player looking to streamline their gear bag while maintaining a premium feel on the ice. It is a solid investment for anyone tired of the repetitive cycle of buying single-use grip tapes.

Your gloves are slick with sweat and the puck is flying toward the top corner, leaving you scrambling for a secure hold on your stick. This Buttendz Sentry replacement grip is designed specifically to solve that high-pressure goalie dilemma. The white and black drip aesthetic looks sharp on the ice, but the real value lies in the specialized goalie grip texture. It provides that much-needed tactile confidence when you are making desperate saves or repositioning during a heavy scramble. Instead of fighting with a worn-out or slippery shaft, this grip allows you to maintain precise control over your stick's movement. It is a straightforward, essential upgrade for any netminder looking to stabilize their handling mid-season.

Howies delivers a professional-grade stick and shin tape solution that sets a high bar for durability on the ice. This 50/50 polyethylene and cotton blend features a remarkably tight weave that creates a watertight bond with your blade, ensuring your grip stays consistent through the final period. I was particularly impressed by the adhesive strength. It is aggressive enough to stay put during heavy play without requiring constant re-taping on the bench, yet it remains easy to tear by hand and peels off without leaving a messy residue. It is a reliable, high-performance essential for any player who needs their gear to hold up when the game is on the line.

Howies Hockey Tape Stick Wax is a total game-changer for keeping your blade dry during heavy slush games. SportsTape Clear Hockey Tape delivers a professional-grade grip that survives even the most intense slushy conditions. I found the waterproof and snowproof adhesive to be a total game-changer for keeping socks and gear locked in place during heavy play. What really sets this apart is the serrated edge design. You can ditch the scissors entirely because the tape tears cleanly without any annoying fraying. It provides that flexible strength athletes demand to stay secure on the ice, yet it peels away effortlessly once the game ends. Because this comes in a convenient 10-pack, you can keep rolls stashed in your gear bag, car, or toolbox so you are never caught unprepared during a quick equipment fix.

You might assume a multi-pack of tape is just another way to spend money on basic consumables, but this SportsTape combo actually delivers on the essentials. After putting these rolls through their paces, the standout factor is the sheer reliability of the adhesion. Whether you are wrapping a stick or securing gear, the strength holds up under pressure without peeling prematurely. The serrated edges are a massive time-saver during pre-game prep, allowing for clean, quick tears when you are in a rush. Having a mix of one white, two black, and three clear rolls means you are covered for any aesthetic or functional need on the ice. It is a practical, high-performance kit that eliminates the guesswork of which color you might need mid-season.

This mask is purpose-built for the driveway or the cul-de-sac, specifically designed for play with a 2 5/8” street hockey ball. I love how the quick-snap elastic straps allow kids to gear up or ditch the helmet in seconds without a struggle. Because it features an adjustable backplate, you won't have to worry about a loose fit as they grow. Just remember that this is strictly for street hockey. It lacks HECC/CSA certification, so keep it away from ice hockey pucks and stick to the neighborhood games.

The 1-inch rolls are substantial, providing over 400 feet of coverage in total, which easily lasts an entire season. I also really appreciate the tear-away design. Every serious hockey player needs a reliable roll of tape in their bag to prevent mid-game grip disasters. You can strip off an old job and apply a fresh one without any sticky buildup left on the shaft. Since it is made in the USA and comes in an economical four-pack, it is a reliable staple for any gear bag.

Most players settle for a slick, unresponsive blade that loses its edge the moment they hit the ice, but Howies changes that dynamic entirely. Beyond just the feel, it acts as a vital shield against the elements, effectively preventing ice and snow from building up on your equipment. It is one of the most water and snow-resistant solutions I have tested, keeping your blade clean and your play consistent throughout the entire game.

I tested these Wraparound shields to see if they could actually bridge the gap between street hockey and real ice performance, and the results are impressive. Weighing a mere 1.4 ounces, they won't throw off your stick's balance, yet the proprietary plastic is tough enough to handle aggressive slap shots once you wrap them in tape. Because this pack comes with three separate rolls, you always have a backup ready in your gear bag for those sudden mid-season repairs. It is a straightforward, durable solution for players who need consistent control over their stick without overthinking their equipment maintenance.
