Best Chasebaits in 2026

Most anglers spend their time trying to mimic perfect swimming motions, but the Chasebaits Drunken Mullet actually thrives on being completely erratic. By utilizing a segmented body paired with an offset pop tail, this lure produces a disorienting, unbalanced wobble that looks exactly like a dying fish on its last legs. On a slow retrieve, the movement is subtle and hypnotic, yet as you pick up the pace, the lure rolls onto its side to create a loud, aggressive water slap. This dual-action capability allows you to switch from a stealthy, exhausted presentation to a high-energy disturbance instantly. Whether you are targeting aggressive predators or looking to trigger a strike with irregular movements, the unique physics of this lure make it a standout addition to any tackle box.

Anglers hunting predatory species in tricky environments need the Chasebaits Flick Prawn to bridge the gap between artificial bait and a live meal. Because this lure is hand-sculpted from an actual prawn, the anatomical accuracy is immediately striking when you hold it. I found that the 95mm profile works exceptionally well whether you are slow rolling through open water or twitching it through heavy snags. The integrated 4.0g lead weight helps with casting, while the 3/0 hook provides a solid setup for everything from freshwater bass and trout to saltwater targets like redfish and snapper. It moves with an ultra-lifelike shimmy that makes it difficult for even the most cautious fish to ignore.

Can a piece of soft plastic truly mimic the erratic, mesmerizing swim of a living cephalopod? The Chasebaits Nitro series attempts to answer that question with an incredible level of detail that sets it apart from standard lures. During testing, the most striking element was the wing action. They provide a natural roll that looks remarkably authentic underwater. The addition of custom 3D eyes and contracting tentacles adds a layer of sensory realism, while the extended candles flutter even with the slightest water movement. To get the most out of these, you'll want to rig them with a weighted jighead or wormhook ranging from 1/4 oz up to 3oz using a 4/0 to 6/0 hook. It is a highly specialized tool for anglers who prioritize lifelike presentation.

The Chasebaits Crusty Crab is a specialized soft plastic lure that delivers an impressive amount of action for its compact size. Modeled after the common Shore Crab, this tan TPE lure utilizes rapid vibration legs to mimic natural prey movement. I found the balance to be a standout feature. It consistently flips onto its belly upon casting, which is essential for a predictable sink rate of 3.5 seconds per meter. Whether you are jigging for smallmouth bass in freshwater or targeting redfish in saltwater, the fine gauge #2 hook provides the necessary strength for aggressive strikes. It is a versatile addition to any tackle box, working effectively whether you are slow rolling it through cover or simply letting it sit in the rod holder.

Most anglers settle for rigid, static lures that fail to trigger a predatory response, but the Chasebaits Bobbin Frog changes the game with its unique vertical movement. This 2.55-inch topwater lure is engineered to bob up and down, mimicking the erratic rhythm of wounded prey. The TPE construction is incredibly robust yet soft enough to allow for easy weedless hookups, even in thick vegetation. I was particularly impressed by the detailed design. The retracting arms and lifelike legs create a frantic motion that draws strikes, while the specialized hole around the hook allows air to escape during a hit for better hook sets. Whether you are squeezing it to clear water or letting it sink for a different swim profile, this lure offers a versatile, high-action approach to fishing.

Most anglers settle for static plastic imitations that lack the kinetic energy needed to trigger a predatory strike, but the Chasebaits Smash Crab Jr changes the game through sheer mechanical movement. After you cast this 2.95-inch lure, it flips onto its belly and uses its vibrating legs and claws to mimic a panicked crustacean with startling accuracy. The Atlantic Blue colorway looks incredibly natural, and because it is constructed from ultra-tough 10X material, it survives much more abuse than standard soft plastics. Whether you are targeting freshwater species like Largemouth Bass and Pike or saltwater predators like Redfish and Snapper, the 18g weight provides a steady sink rate of 3.3 sec/m that helps you reach the strike zone quickly. It is a rugged, high-action tool for serious fishermen.

Most anglers assume a soft plastic lure needs to be delicate to look natural, but the Smash Crab Jr proves that durability is just as vital as aesthetics. Constructed from a rugged 10X material, this 2.95-inch crab is built to survive aggressive strikes while maintaining an incredibly lifelike appearance. The real magic happens mid-water. Once you cast it out, the lure flips onto its belly, causing the legs and claws to vibrate with a rapid, frantic motion that mimics a struggling crustacean. It sinks at a steady 3.3 seconds per meter, making it a versatile tool for everything from freshwater largemouth bass and pike to saltwater predators like redfish and snapper. It is a high-vibration option that truly bridges the gap between realism and toughness.

You might wonder if another crawfish imitation can actually change your bite rate, but the Chasebaits Love Bug is engineered specifically to solve that skepticism. This 4-inch creature bait moves with an intensity that most soft plastics can't match thanks to the combination of proprietary rolling hood wings and inverted Rapid-Vibe claws. I found that the movement is incredibly aggressive on the initial drop, yet it transitions into a subtle, lifelike shimmy when you start twitching it along the bottom. The segmented antennae and unique insect body ripples add a layer of realism that triggers predatory instincts in bass. Plus, the extra salt added to the belly isn't just for seasoning. It provides the essential balance and buoyancy needed to keep the action consistent during your retrieve.
