The Black Ayu pattern is incredibly effective, but the real magic lies in those wavy sides that create a sense of constant motion even when the lure is idling. At 4 1/2 inches and 3/8 ounce, it hits a sweet spot for shallow water tactics, diving just enough to reach about 3 feet. I’ve found that a steady retrieve produces a wide, enticing wobble, while a quick twitch mimics a wounded baitfish perfectly. At 4 1/2 inches, it strikes that perfect balance of being substantial enough to attract predators while remaining agile in the water.

The Cotton Cordell Boy Howdy is a specialized topwater lure that redefines surface action for clear water environments. Unlike standard walking baits, this 4 1/2-inch lure sits vertically with the tail down while at rest, creating a unique silhouette that mimics a wounded minnow or a fleeing shad. When you deliver a sharp jerk to the rod tip, it lunges forward and spits water, a high-energy movement that triggers aggressive strikes. It is specifically engineered for highland reservoirs where visibility is high and fish are cautious. To get the most out of this 3/8 oz lure, you should fish it slowly to maximize its time in the strike zone. At 4 1/2 inches and 3/8 ounce, this crankbait is a versatile powerhouse that dives to a perfect three-foot depth. I found the casting to be incredibly smooth, allowing for precise placement regardless of the wind conditions.
