The internal build utilizes a reliable combination of cartridge bearings and DU bushings, ensuring smooth rotation even when things get muddy. They are rugged, bright, and provide exactly the kind of reliable contact surface you need when the terrain gets rowdy.

Slipping off your pedals during a technical descent is a frustrating way to end a ride, which is exactly why the Race Face Chester provides a more secure platform for mountain bikers. These pedals offer a reliable surface that helps keep your feet planted when the terrain gets rough. The vibrant purple finish isn't just for show. It adds a distinct personality to your bike build that stands out on the trail. Unlike many other clipless systems that leave you feeling like you're walking on ice, these feature a dedicated walking point designed to provide much better traction on flat surfaces. It is a smart engineering choice because the plastic cleat is designed to wear down over time rather than grinding away at your expensive pedals. For a relatively low investment, you are essentially buying insurance for your pedal hardware while gaining a much more stable footing when you are off the bike. They are a reliable, essential component for anyone serious about their SPD-SL setup.

You are halfway through a muddy singletrack trail when the terrain turns technical, and suddenly, that connection between your foot and the bike becomes everything. Unlike old-school toe-clips, this innovative design boosts your power output while giving you much tighter control during adventurous rides. I particularly appreciate the open binding design. It allows mud and debris to flush out easily so you aren't fighting your gear mid-climb. Even when you have to hop off the bike, the recessed cleat makes walking between trail sections significantly more comfortable and natural.

Plus, with the included brass cleats and shims, you can finally dial in your specific float and release angle for a truly custom interface.

Leaving your expensive mountain or electric bike exposed to the elements is a recipe for rust and sun-damaged components. The Puroma XL cover solves this by utilizing a heavy-duty waterproof polyester reinforced with a PU and UV coating that blocks sun damage with a 50+ ultraviolet rating. During my testing, the double-stitched elastic hem and integrated buckle were essential for preventing the cover from flapping away during high winds. I particularly liked the thoughtful lock-hole design near the front wheel, which lets you secure your bike without having to strip the cover off every time. It is surprisingly easy to manage, too. When you aren't using it, the Velcro design allows you to tuck it neatly into a basket or strap it to your frame.
