Best Eg Starts in 2026

After weeks of testing various enthusiast-grade hardware, I can confirm that the EG STARTS delid tool is a game-changer for anyone chasing maximum overclocking potential. This kit provides a remarkably safe and straightforward method to access your processor's integrated heat spreader. It is fully compatible with Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake architectures, covering a wide range of chips from the classic 3770k to the high-performance 9900K. One critical tip I learned during my testing is to ensure the square aluminum block sits below the plastic plane. Failing to do this can lead to permanent damage to your CPU board. Whether you are working with LGA 1150, 1151, or 1155, the included relid tool ensures you can reseal your chip with precision and confidence.

After weeks of use across various storage projects, these EG STARTS tubular cam locks have proven to be a reliable staple for securing small enclosures. The zinc alloy construction with a chrome finish feels substantial, and the 1 1/8" cylinder length works perfectly for my wooden cabinets and metal toolboxes. One of the most convenient aspects is that the entire five-pack is keyed alike, meaning one single key operates every lock in the set. I also found the reversible stop cam incredibly helpful for customization, as you can position it at any clock direction to ensure a proper 90-degree turn. The key-retaining feature adds a layer of security by preventing you from accidentally leaving the key in the lock once it's turned.

Ever wondered how easy it actually is to build your own retro gaming station from scratch? This EG STARTS kit removes the guesswork by providing everything necessary for a dedicated two-player MAME arcade project. I was impressed by the zero delay USB encoder, which ensures your inputs feel responsive rather than sluggish during intense gameplay. The package includes two 8-way joysticks in contrasting red and black, along with twenty push buttons to round out your control scheme. Setup is remarkably straightforward since you essentially just connect the wires to the buttons and sticks. Whether you are running a Windows PC or a Raspberry Pi, this hardware provides a solid, plug-and-play foundation for any DIY enthusiast looking to bring classic arcade cabinets to life.

Budget-conscious retro gaming enthusiasts building their own arcade cabinets will find this EG Starts kit to be an absolute essential for a two-player setup. Instead of hunting down individual components, this package delivers a complete ecosystem including a Zero Delay USB encoder, twenty push buttons, and a specialized 8-way joystick interface. I found the easy install design particularly impressive because it eliminates the technical headache of complex wiring. You simply connect the buttons and joystick to the encoder and you are ready to play. Whether you are configuring a MAME cabinet or a Raspberry Pi station, this kit provides the necessary hardware to turn a DIY project into a fully functional gaming machine without the usual frustration of mismatched parts.

Most DIY arcade builders assume that the longevity of a machine depends on the heavy wooden cabinet, but the real battle is won or lost at the contact point. These EG STARTS 5V LED buttons turn a standard Raspberry Pi or MAME setup into a vibrant, professional-grade arcade experience. The full-color illumination adds a much-needed visual punch to custom builds, making the controls feel alive during intense gameplay. What truly sets this kit apart is the internal microswitch reliability, which has been tested to withstand a massive 10,000,000 cycles. With a 33mm plunger diameter and a compact 28mm mounting requirement, they fit seamlessly into most standard joystick enclosures without requiring massive structural modifications.

Most desktop users settle for standard quad-core setups that struggle under heavy workloads, but the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X is built to shatter those limitations. After putting this 12-core, 24-thread powerhouse to the test, it is clear that this chip is designed for enthusiasts who refuse to compromise between high-end gaming and intense multitasking. You can expect ultra-fast performance exceeding 100 FPS in popular titles, thanks to the massive 70 MB game cache and a 4.6 GHz max boost clock. I particularly liked that it comes bundled with the Wraith Prism LED cooler, which adds a nice aesthetic touch to any build. Whether you are overclocking or running heavy professional software, the unlocked architecture and DDR 3200 support make this a formidable centerpiece for a high-performance rig.

Can a single component truly transform a mid-range gaming rig into a high-performance powerhouse? The AMD Ryzen 7 3700X proves it can by delivering ultra-fast, 100+ FPS performance in the most demanding titles. With 8 cores and 16 threads, this processor handles heavy multitasking and gaming with ease, especially when paired with the massive 36 MB game cache. I was particularly impressed by the inclusion of the Wraith Prism LED cooler, which adds a much-needed splash of color to your build while managing thermal loads effectively. For those building on the AM4 platform, the support for PCIe 4.0 on x570 motherboards provides a significant edge in data speeds. It is a robust, overclockable solution that hits the sweet spot for serious enthusiasts.

The Intel Core i7-9700K stands as a powerhouse for desktop computing enthusiasts seeking high-speed performance through its unlocked architecture. Testing this eight-core chip reveals a significant boost in responsiveness, especially when pushing those clock speeds from the base 3.60 GHz up to a blistering 4.90 GHz turbo. It handles heavy workloads with ease thanks to its 12 MB cache and support for up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory. You should keep in mind that this is a processor-only package, so you will need to source your own cooling solution separately. While it requires a 300 Series chipset motherboard to function, the inclusion of Intel UHD Graphics 630 and Optane Memory support makes it a versatile heart for a high-performance build.

The silent, fanless chassis of this MacBook Air is the first thing you notice, offering a seamless computing experience without the distracting whir of a cooling fan. Under the hood, the M1 chip completely redefines what a thin laptop can do, delivering up to 3.5x faster performance for everything from heavy graphic files to gaming. The 13.3-inch Retina display makes colors pop with incredible realism, while the 8GB of unified memory ensures multitasking stays snappy. Because it integrates so deeply with the iPhone and iPad ecosystem, you can answer texts or extend your workspace effortlessly. It is a rare combination of extreme portability, nearly 18 hours of battery life, and professional-grade power wrapped in a recycled aluminum enclosure.

Your competitive edge in a high-stakes multiplayer match depends entirely on how quickly your CPU can process frame data. I put the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X to the test, and it consistently pushes ultra-fast 100+ FPS performance when paired with 3200 MHz system memory. This 6-core, 12-thread powerhouse is built for gamers who want to squeeze every bit of speed out of their rig, especially with its 4.4 GHz max boost clock and 35 MB of game cache.
