Best Funmaker in 2026

The heavy current pulls hard against your line as you drop this 250g Funmaker jig into the deep blue, searching for a massive Bluefin Tuna. What sets this lure apart is the asymmetrical design. The two sides feature different shapes to ensure a complex, erratic jigging action whether you are pitching or vertical jigging. It sinks rapidly even in strong currents, making it a reliable tool for reaching deep-dwelling species like Amberjack or Grouper. I found the luminous silver finish particularly effective for night sessions or murky depths, though you definitely need to charge it under bright light first to maximize that glow. It is a rugged, versatile piece of tackle built to handle serious saltwater predators.

After weeks of testing these in heavy currents, the asymmetric design of the Funmaker high-speed jig really stands out. Unlike standard symmetrical lures, the dual-sided shaping creates a unique, erratic jigging action that seems to trigger much more aggressive strikes from predatory species. I found that the 200g weight handles deep-water descents beautifully, even when the tide is pulling hard. A huge advantage for night sessions or murky depths is the luminous silver finish. Just remember to charge it under direct sunlight first to maximize that glow. Whether you are targeting massive Bluefin Tuna or smaller mackerel, the versatility across different weights makes this a reliable addition to any saltwater tackle box.
