Best Grumbacher in 2026

Can a student-grade palette actually deliver professional-level color accuracy? This Grumbacher Academy set aims to answer that by focusing on a strategic six-color foundation designed specifically for mixing. Instead of random hues, you get a purposeful lineup featuring Process Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow alongside Ultramarine Blue, Grumbacher Red, and a generous Mixing White. Each 90ml metal tube is packed with highly pigmented paint that boasts an excellent ASTM lightfastness rating, ensuring your work stays vibrant over time. It is a rare find to get this level of tinting strength and color precision at such an affordable price point. Since these are made in the USA, you can trust the consistency as you experiment with the wider range of brilliant process and metallic colors in this line.

Most artists dread the moment they need to scan a sketch or work on a single page without the bulk of a heavy book getting in the way. This Grumbacher sketchbook solves that frustration through a clever, patent-pending 'In & Out' page system that lets you detach sheets for focused painting or digital scanning and then slide them right back into the wire binding. The 90 lb. white paper features a medium tooth texture that feels substantial under a pencil but remains versatile enough for light wet media washes. Because it is side-wired with a durable hardcover, it acts as a portable, protective vault for your ideas. It is a rare tool that balances the permanence of a traditional journal with the flexibility of loose-leaf art paper.

Watercolor artists working on a budget shouldn't have to sacrifice professional performance for a lower price point. The Grumbacher Goldenedge Oval Wash Brush is a rare find that punches far above its weight class, offering a level of durability and strength typically reserved for much more expensive sable brushes. I found the thick middle section incredibly helpful for loading up on pigment, allowing for long, uninterrupted washes. What makes this tool a standout is its sheer versatility. You can use the broad side for sweeping backgrounds or tilt it to use the narrow edge for more precise, delicate details. The synthetic bristles are remarkably soft, making them perfect for seamless blending without losing their shape during heavy use.

You might assume that plug-in air fresheners lose their punch after just a week, but these Febreze Fade Defy refills actually hold their own. I tested these Gain Original Scent oils to see if the scent would actually stay consistent, and the Fade Defy technology really delivers on that promise of first-day freshness. It is a massive relief to find a continuous, automatic freshener that uses digitally controlled scent release to keep things steady rather than overwhelming. Whether you are trying to neutralize kitchen smells or just want a cozy vibe in the bedroom, these three refills provide a reliable solution. Even on the low setting, you get a solid 50 days of fragrance, making it a much more efficient way to manage household odors.
