Most formal evening wear sacrifices silhouette for comfort, but this Kivary mermaid gown manages to balance dramatic flair with a structured, flattering fit. The heavy lifting is done by the elegant beaded sequin lace appliques on the bodice, which provide a stunning contrast to the clean, unadorned skirt. I was particularly impressed by the thoughtful construction, including built-in bra padding and a fully lined underskirt that prevents any transparency issues. Because this is a custom-made piece, the fit is highly dependent on your precision with a measuring tape. You really need to provide your bust, waist, hips, and total height including heels to get that perfect court train effect. It is a high-maintenance piece that requires dry cleaning, but for a milestone event, the off-shoulder V-neck design is absolutely show-stopping.
