Inconsistent diaphragm performance often ruins a hunt, but the RIPIT Elk Call aims to fix that through its patented frame design. During testing, the .004 thick red reed proved to be a reliable medium-weight option, particularly when transitioning between cow calls and those initial 3-4 note bugles. It requires a steady hand with medium air and tongue pressure, but the small tape profile makes it sit very comfortably in the mouth. I was especially impressed by the new call armor. It stays completely waterproof and doesn't get that dreaded soggy feeling after heavy use. For anyone starting out or focusing on cow calls, this setup provides a clear, consistent sound that holds up in the field.

Outdoor enthusiasts who live for the early morning hunt need this specific cap to handle the heat without sacrificing style. Built on the industry-standard Richardson 112 silhouette, this mid-profile trucker hat offers a familiar, comfortable fit that feels broken-in from day one. The charcoal and black colorway provides a rugged look, but the real winner is the high air-flow mesh back that makes it a lifesaver during warm-weather treks. I was particularly impressed by the artfully embroidered elk artwork. It adds a premium, intentional touch that sets it apart from cheap, mass-produced headwear. Combining a durable cotton-poly blend with nylon mesh, this hat is a reliable piece of gear for anyone spending significant time in the elements.

Since they arrive pretuned, you can skip the frustrating calibration process and get straight to practicing your bugles. Having a two-pack in your kit provides much-needed redundancy. If one gets lost in the brush or damaged, you aren't left empty-handed during peak rut. These are rugged, reliable, and ready to go right out of the box.
