The ice is thick, the wind is biting, and the fish are holding deep in the dark water. This is exactly where the Northland Tackle Buck-Shot Spoon shines, using its optical brightened finish to cut through the gloom and grab attention. I found that the Green Perch pattern looks incredibly natural, but it’s the internal mechanics that really do the heavy lifting. The lure emits a distinct ticking, thumping, and clicking sound that creates a wide radius of vibration, essentially calling fish in from a distance. Whether you are targeting stubborn crappies, walleye, or perch, this 1/4 oz spoon adds a necessary layer of sensory stimulation to your jigging game that simple lures often lack.

The murky depths of a late-season lake demand a lure that doesn't just move water, but actively commands attention. I took the Northland Tackle Eye Ball Spoon out during a low-light session, and the Glo Perch pattern immediately stood out against the dark bottom. Because this specific design was developed using direct feedback from pro staff, the action feels intentional rather than accidental. The 1/8 oz weight provides just enough heft to get through the water column quickly, while the integrated hardware feels sturdy enough to handle aggressive strikes. It is a specialized tool that feels less like a generic piece of tin and more like a piece of gear tuned for actual fishing conditions.

It is the all-time money-winning jig on the PWT and FLW Pro Walleye Tours for a reason. The two-tone design provides a striking visual that triggers aggressive strikes from predators like walleyes, saugers, and perch. I particularly find the inclusion of 'sting's' hooks to be a game-changer when you are dealing with those frustrating, short-striking nibblers that usually swim off with your bait. At 1/8 oz, these are perfect for finding that sweet spot in the water column. You get six high-performance jigs per pack, making it a reliable staple for any serious fishing trip.

Most anglers assume that a simple lure design is a weakness, but the Northland Tackle Eye Ball Spoon proves that specialized simplicity often beats over-engineered complexity. This 1/4 oz perch pattern was actually developed using direct feedback from pro staff, which shows in how it moves through the water. The hardware feels remarkably sturdy for its price point, ensuring you won't be losing lures to hardware failure mid-strike. Anglers fighting thick vegetation shouldn't have to settle for lures that constantly snag and stall. The Northland Jaw Breaker is a game-changer for anyone targeting fish hiding deep within heavy weeds where standard spoons fail. I was particularly impressed by the solid brass construction, which provides a substantial feel and durability that cheaper alternatives lack. The flexible plastic 'Y' guard is the real hero here, making the lure truly weedless so you can rip it through the muck without losing your hardware. Paired with a high-quality Eagle Claw hook and a striking Silver Shiner finish, this 1/2 oz spoon offers the perfect balance of heavy-duty build and predatory action.

The erratic flutter of the belly blade is the first thing you'll notice as this jig dances through the water column. Northland Tackle designed this Thumper Jig with a sleek minnow head that works in tandem with a specialized blade to create constant flashes and vibrations, effectively mimicking a panicked prey item. I found the blood red lip-stick on the hooks to be a clever touch for stimulating aggressive strikes, especially when paired with the glow watermelon finish. One of the most practical engineering choices here is the barb-wire bait-holding collar, which keeps your soft plastics or live bait pinned securely to the hook without constant readjustment. It is a highly intentional piece of tackle that focuses on movement and retention.

Most anglers spend a fortune on complex lures only to realize that the simplest silhouette is often the most lethal. The Northland Tackle Mimic Minnow Fry works because it doesn't try to be a masterpiece. It just tries to look like a panicked meal. The Northland Fishing Tackle Glass Buck-Shot Spoon changes the game by combining a translucent, realistic baitfish pattern with a high-pitched glass rattle that cuts through the ice. I found that the way this 1/8 oz jig flutters and vibrates is incredibly effective at calling in everything from wary walleye to curious perch. Because the entire lead frame is encased in a clear, hard resin, you don't have to worry about the finish chipping when you hit rocks. It feels like a professional-grade tool that stays looking brand new, making it a reliable staple for any winter jig box.

Most anglers settle for passive lures that simply sit in the water, but the Northland Tackle Whistler Jig actually communicates with the fish. This isn't just another piece of metal. It utilizes a sensitive metallic propeller blade designed to create a unique whistling sound that calls predators in from a distance. During testing, the Parakeet colorway proved incredibly versatile, triggering aggressive strikes from perch and walleye, while still performing beautifully for bass, crappie, and trout. I found that the fast-turning blade on this setup creates just enough disturbance to grab a walleye's attention without being overwhelming. It is specifically engineered for medium trolling speeds, making it a reliable choice when you are drifting through fair to high-visibility water. Whether you are threading a night crawler, a leech, or a minnow onto the #4 hooks, the 40-inch snell provides the perfect presentation. It isn't just for walleyes either. The 1.5-inch body features a clever S-curve design that, when paired with the lightweight z-alloy material, creates a maximum flutter effect that mimics wounded prey. Whether you are opting for the red, green, or chartreuse colorways, the non-toxic construction and specialized action make this a highly effective tool for any tackle box.

It is clear that Northland Tackle didn't just guess on these. They utilized direct pro staff feedback to refine the design and hardware quality. Northland Tackle has engineered a game-changing solution for freshwater predator hunting with this Level-Head Predator Tube Jig that simplifies your vertical jigging setup. I was immediately impressed by the strategic eyelet placement. Unlike standard tubes that often tilt awkwardly, this design ensures the bait hangs perfectly horizontal for a natural, lifelike presentation. The soft, chewy body mimics a dying baitfish with realistic swimming and darting motions that trigger strikes from pike and lake trout alike. It arrives fully rigged and ready to fish, which is a massive time-saver when you're transitioning between ice fishing and boat fishing. Between the stout hook construction and the blood red sting’r hook, you can feel confident that once a big predator hits, you actually have the hardware to land it.

The horizontal presentation of this lure is a total game-changer for anyone tired of seeing their soft plastics tilt awkwardly underwater.
