Borage, also known as starflower, is a mediterranean herb that has been in use for several thousand years. This is the only variety of Snow Pea that I grow due to the fact that it is the best variety available. Known as "Schweizer Riesen" in Europe, this old Swiss variety is highly productive. Pea pods remain sweet and tasty throughout the growing season. Pink and purple flowers make for a colorful addition to your vegetable garden. Vines grow to 6' and should be placed on a trellis.

Zinnia Elegans This beautiful Zinnia variety grows 6"-8" in height, and has a unique, compact bushy habit. Flowers measure 1.25" in diameter and bloom in pink, yellow, red, white, and lavender. Pansy seeds are fairly difficult to germinate and require very specific conditions. However, with the proper attention they can be grown successfully from seed. It is best to put your seeds in the refrigerator for several days before starting them. You will want to start your seed at a fairly cool temperature, 60F to 65F. Sprinkle your seeds onto your starting mix, then sprinkle more mix over the seeds to cover with about 1/8" of soil- they need to be covered- and place them in a dark room.

This old favorite was introduced in 1925 and has been a favorite of home gardeners ever since. Plants grow to almost 2 feet in diameter and are incredibly productive. I harvest when the leaves are approx. 4" long, although they can be grown as baby spinach too. Re-growth is excellent. 32 days baby, 42 days medium, 65 days HUGE!

Huge , colorful spires grow to 4' tall. This wonderful perennial is great along fences or as a natural fence-row. Acts as a bee magnet. I find it to be a great companion crop for squash and melons. I cover them lightly with a damp (not wet!) potting soil mix and put them in the coolest part of the basement.
