Best Optimus in 2026

Most backpackers settle for tiny, single-point burners that scorch the center of their pans, but the Optimus Crux changes the game with its wide burner head. During testing, the 3000W jet delivered impressive speed, getting water to a boil much faster than standard ultralight models. What really stands out is the precision. The wide surface area prevents that annoying spot-burning, making it much more viable for actual cooking rather than just boiling water. It is incredibly easy to pack away thanks to the foldable design and a dedicated stuff sack that nests perfectly under a 220g canister. You can expect about 90 minutes of runtime at maximum output, which provides a solid power-to-weight ratio for any serious trek.

After weeks of testing this in high-stakes environments, the sheer mounting strength of the Optimus Waterproof Twin Magnetic Case is what truly sets it apart. Designed specifically for the Optimus 2.0, this housing utilizes NdFeB magnets—the strongest commercially available—to ensure your device stays locked onto flat metal surfaces even during high-speed travel or heavy storms. It is no coincidence that law enforcement and private investigators rely on this specific build for covert operations. The waterproof construction provides peace of mind against the elements, while the compact 3.2 x 1.5 x 1.8 inch interior keeps your setup discreet. Just keep in mind that this is a dedicated accessory for the 2.0 model and will not fit the 3.0 version.

The Optimus 2.0 sets a high bar for asset security by combining rapid-fire reporting with a rugged, waterproof setup. I found the inclusion of the twin magnet case particularly impressive, as it allows for a discreet, secure attachment to vehicles without needing complex mounting hardware. You get real-time updates as fast as every ten seconds, which is vital for monitoring high-value assets. While the two-week battery life is solid at one-minute reporting intervals, keep in mind that weak cellular signals in certain areas might drain power faster as the device works harder to stay connected. It is a comprehensive kit that offers instant text and email alerts for speeding, movement, or SOS triggers, providing genuine peace of mind across the USA and Canada.

Fleet managers and high-value asset owners cannot afford to leave their security to chance without the Optimus 2.0 in their toolkit. I was particularly impressed by the granularity of the tracking. You can customize position updates to occur as frequently as every ten seconds without being hit by extra fees. The 4G LTE connectivity ensures the data is reliable, and the accompanying app works seamlessly on both iPhone and Android for that much-needed peace of mind. Whether you are monitoring heavy machinery or keeping tabs on a loved one, the ability to set up instant text or email alerts makes this a proactive security tool rather than a reactive one. Plus, with a two-week battery life even at one-minute reporting intervals, it handles long-term monitoring with ease.

Most backpackers assume that adding another piece of gear to their kit is a recipe for a heavy pack, but the Optimus Terra Kettle proves that specialized utility doesn't have to weigh you down. At just 153 grams, this hard anodized aluminum vessel is an incredibly efficient way to boil water without the bulk of traditional cookware. I found the 151x64 mm dimensions to be the sweet spot for portability, especially since it nests perfectly inside the Optimus Terra cook set. It even comes with a dedicated mesh bag to keep your gear organized and prevent rattling in your pack. Whether you are sipping morning coffee at a high altitude or prepping a quick meal, this compact kettle makes lightweight trekking feel a lot more comfortable.

Optimus takes the guesswork out of wiring a tracker into a vehicle — two leads, positive and negative, straight onto the battery, and you're done. No fuse tapping, no hunting for a wiring harness. From there it reports every thirty seconds and on every corner, so turns don't get smoothed over into a vague straight line. Movement, speeding, zone entry and exit, and power-cut alerts land in your inbox and phone as texts, all on a month-to-month plan you can walk away from whenever you like. Harsh acceleration, braking, and cornering get flagged too, which is genuinely useful if you're keeping an eye on a teen driver or a small fleet. Coverage spans the country, and a year of driving history stays available while you're subscribed.

Dorm students and office workers living in drafty spaces need the Optimus H-1322 to reclaim their personal comfort without breaking the bank. This compact heater is surprisingly versatile thanks to its four-position switch, which lets you toggle between a simple cooling fan and two distinct heat settings. I found the 1500-watt mode hits its stride quickly, while the 750-watt setting is perfect for gentle, sustained warmth. Safety isn't an afterthought here either. The inclusion of a thermal cutoff, an internal heat-limiting thermostat, and a dedicated tip-over safety switch provides real peace of mind if you move it around your desk. It is a straightforward, no-nonsense solution for localized heating that actually feels reliable.

It requires a two-wire hardwired installation, so you'll want to be comfortable with automotive wiring or hire a professional to handle the positive and negative connections. Once it's tucked away, the mobile app provides instant peace of mind through text and email alerts for speeding, movement, or geofence breaches. With a year of historical data saved and a straightforward monthly subscription that includes the SIM card, it is a robust, no-contract solution for serious vehicle security.

The three-position slide switch on the front cabinet is tactile and intuitive, allowing you to toggle between low and high speeds effortlessly. It is also surprisingly portable thanks to the integrated carrying handle, which makes moving it from the office to the living room a breeze. At its price point, you are getting a reliable, energy-saving cooling tool that prioritizes peace and quiet.

The Optimus 3.0 GPS Tracker stands out because it solves the biggest headache in asset security: installation and connectivity. By bundling the tracker with a waterproof twin magnet case, you can instantly secure it to vehicles or heavy machinery without needing complex wiring. I found the 30-second update frequency incredibly reliable, providing real-time precision on the map and immediate alerts if a driver starts speeding or exits a designated zone. You get a deep dive into driving behavior through harsh driving alerts and detailed trip reports that show exact addresses and speeds. With the SIM card and data plan already baked into the monthly subscription, it is a streamlined solution for anyone needing high-accuracy location history.

Most people settle for delayed location updates that only show where an asset was ten minutes ago, but the Optimus 3.0 changes the game with true real-time precision. I found the 4G LTE connectivity incredibly reliable for tracking high-value machinery or vehicles without the lag common in older devices. You can customize position updates to trigger as often as every ten seconds at no extra charge, which is a massive win for anyone needing granular movement data. While the one-month battery life is impressive for a high-frequency reporting device, keep in mind that you'll need to manage charging cycles regularly. The subscription model is refreshingly transparent with no long-term contracts or hidden fees, making it a low-risk way to secure your most important valuables.

Why settle for a heater that just blows hot air when you can actually manage your room's climate with precision? The Optimus 14" Pedestal Heater changes the game for medium-sized spaces by integrating a digital thermostat that provides a real-time LCD temperature readout.
