Most kitchen counters are cluttered with flimsy plastic dispensers that slide around the moment you try to grab a sheet, but the Polytree Dolphin Holder turns a utility item into a centerpiece. I was immediately struck by the hand-carved details of the adult and baby dolphins leaping through the waves, all finished in a sophisticated vintage bronze. Because the resin base weighs in at a substantial 1.6 pounds, you can actually tear off a towel with one hand without the whole unit lifting up. It handles jumbo-sized rolls without any issue, and the non-slip pads on the bottom keep it anchored firmly to the countertop. It is rare to find a functional kitchen tool that doubles as such an intricate piece of antique-style artwork.

You are mid-recipe, hands covered in flour, and you need a single sheet of paper towel without the entire holder sliding across your granite countertop. The hand-carved details of the turtles, coral, and starfish in a vintage bronze finish turn a mundane kitchen tool into a conversation piece. The open-bottom design is a total lifesaver for quick refills, so I'm not fumbling with the cover every time I run low. Because it is hand-poured resin rather than cheap plastic, it feels substantial and artistic. It manages to bridge the gap between a functional garbage bin and a stylish accent piece that doesn't look out of place in a sophisticated bedroom or professional office setting.
