Best Rycote in 2026

Professional location sound mixers cannot afford to let wardrobe rustle ruin a perfect take, and that is exactly where these Rycote Undercover covers become indispensable. I found that the low-profile black design makes them nearly invisible when tucked under shirts, lapels, or even complex costumes. The ability to cut the sections to your specific placement needs provides a level of customization that standard covers lack. Whether you are filming an outdoor documentary or a controlled indoor interview, these effectively kill clothing noise. A massive plus for long shoot days is the hypoallergenic adhesive, which allows you to attach them directly to the skin without irritation. It is a small, essential kit for anyone serious about clean audio capture.

Rycote Undercover lavalier covers provide the ultimate solution for eliminating distracting clothing rustle during critical audio captures. Whether you are filming an outdoor interview or a controlled studio session, these low-profile covers allow you to mount microphones discreetly under shirts, collars, or costumes without drawing attention to the gear. I found the versatility particularly impressive. Since the sections can be cut to fit your specific placement needs, they work seamlessly with a wide range of hardware from RODE and Sony to Audio-Technica and Boya. This pack of 30 ensures you are always prepared for high-stakes sound capture, providing a professional, clean audio signal that keeps the focus entirely on the subject's voice rather than the friction of their wardrobe.

Professional broadcast engineers and studio sound designers demand the Rycote Invision INV-7 because it eliminates the mechanical noise that ruins high-stakes recordings. This low-profile suspension system is specifically engineered for pencil-type condenser microphones, utilizing a clever single Lyre design that cradles the mic body along its entire length. I found that the soft-grip moulded clips are a game changer, providing a secure hold that prevents the dreaded twisting or slipping during a session. Whether you are mounting this to a boom pole, a studio desk, or a suspended stand, the discreet profile ensures it stays out of the camera's shot. It is a robust, specialized tool that accommodates mics up to 34mm in diameter, making it an essential piece of kit for anyone working in TV or film environments.

The most expensive mistake in field recording isn't a bad microphone, but the vibration noise that ruins a perfect take. This Rycote mount solves that problem by utilizing their patented lyre shock mount technology to decouple your audio from the physical handling of your gear. It is remarkably versatile because you can switch from a camera hot shoe to a boom pole in seconds using the included brass shoe adaptor and 3/8" threading. I was particularly impressed by the microphone clip. It feels virtually unbreakable and accommodates a wide range of diameters from 19mm to 34mm. Whether you are mounting on a camera or a pole, this piece of kit ensures your audio stays clean and professional.

You are standing on a windswept coastline trying to capture clean dialogue for a travel vlog, and suddenly your audio is nothing but a chaotic roar of wind. The Rycote Mini Windjammer is the specific fix for this exact headache when you are running a Rode VideoMic Go. Unlike cheaper foam covers that muffle your audio, this professional-grade synthetic fur is engineered to strip away wind noise while preserving those crucial high frequencies that make speech intelligible. It is incredibly easy to slip on and off, and because it uses the same high-quality materials found in Rycote’s full-sized professional kits, you aren't sacrificing durability for a compact footprint. It turns a vulnerable on-camera mic into a rugged outdoor tool.

Your studio recording session shouldn't be ruined by the low-frequency rumble of a heavy mic shifting or a desk bump traveling up the stand. The Rycote InVision Studio Kit solves this by providing a rock-solid foundation for substantial Large Diaphragm Condenser microphones. I was particularly impressed by the patented Lyre technology, which replaces traditional elastic bands that eventually sag and lose tension. Because this design uses no elasticated parts, you never have to worry about rethreading or losing that tight, vibration-resistant grip. It handles mics up to 900g with ease, making it a perfect companion for heavier units like the Blue The Kiwi or CAD E350. With the included universal pop filter, you have a complete, professional-grade suspension setup that stays consistent for years.

The Rycote Classic Softie delivers an impressive 25dB of wind noise reduction without sacrificing the crisp high frequencies your recordings depend on. After testing this in unpredictable outdoor conditions, the hand-assembled UK craftsmanship really shines through in its rugged durability. It uses a specialized combination of acoustic foam and high-quality synthetic fur to baffle wind while keeping your audio clean. This 5cm model is a precise fit for specific shotgun mics like the Sennheiser ME series or Schoeps CMC, provided your mic diameter is between 19 and 22mm. While you might have to wait 4 to 5 weeks for shipping, the professional-grade protection it offers for your gear makes the anticipation worthwhile for serious field recording.

The Rycote Universal Microphone Shock Mount is a masterclass in vibration isolation through its patented Lyre technology. Unlike traditional mounts that rely on elastic bands which eventually sag or require tedious rethreading, this system uses a specialized Lyre design that remains virtually indestructible. I found it incredibly effective at dampening the distracting internal motor drive vibrations from lenses and general handling noise that often ruins field recordings. It installs onto Sony, Canon, Panasonic, and JVC camcorders with ease, making it a versatile tool for any run-and-gun shooter. Whether you are running a Røde shotgun mic or an Audio-Technica condenser, this mount provides a stable, professional foundation that simplifies your audio setup without the maintenance headaches of older mounting styles.

Most filmmakers assume that a standard foam windscreen is enough to tame the elements, but real-world outdoor recording quickly proves otherwise. I found that the Rycote Mini Windjammer is an absolute necessity for anyone relying on the Rode VideoMic Pro-R in breezy environments. The synthetic fur technology is remarkably effective at killing wind noise without making your audio sound muffled or muddy. It maintains a transparent high-frequency response, which is crucial for keeping dialogue crisp. The slip-on design is incredibly intuitive, utilizing a snap stretch fastener that fits perfectly over the existing mic foam. It’s a specialized piece of kit that turns a vulnerable microphone into a rugged, outdoor-ready tool.

Field recordists working in unpredictable environments cannot afford to let wind noise ruin a perfect take. This Rycote kit is a professional-grade lifesaver that combines the legendary 18cm Classic Softie slip-on windshield with a robust Duo-Lyre shockmount system. The synthetic fur and acoustic foam construction work in tandem to deaden harsh gusts without sacrificing the clarity of your audio. What really sets this setup apart for handheld work is the integrated pistol-grip handle, which provides a much more stable and ergonomic way to navigate through brush or wind than a standard microphone stand. It feels incredibly purposeful, turning a sensitive microphone into a rugged, field-ready tool that handles the elements with ease.

Field recordists and audio engineers who refuse to be tethered to a single microphone setup absolutely need these Rycote Universal Lyres in their gear bags. Instead of buying entirely new shock mounts every time you swap gear, this two-pack upgrade provides a versatile solution that accommodates almost any microphone with a diameter between 19 and 25 mm. I found that the flexibility here is the real winner, as it supports mics up to 300 mm in length without compromising stability. It is a smart, professional way to maintain high-quality isolation while keeping your kit lightweight and adaptable for various recording environments. Having this level of compatibility makes transitioning between different setups seamless and efficient.

Documentary filmmakers and field journalists working in unpredictable environments absolutely require the Rycote Undercover and Stickier to maintain professional audio standards without visual clutter. I found that these low-profile adhesive sections are a total game-changer for hiding microphones under shirts, lapels, or complex costumes during high-stakes interviews. Because they are crafted from the same high-quality synthetic material found in Rycote's pro windshielding kits, they feel incredibly durable rather than flimsy. You can easily cut the sections to your specific placement needs, and the hypoallergenic material is safe enough to attach directly to skin. Whether you are using a Sony, Audio-Technica, or RODE lavalier, these stickies provide a reliable, discreet solution for both indoor and outdoor sound capture.

Studio engineers working in high-stakes broadcast or film environments need the Rycote INVision INV-6 to eliminate the distracting low-frequency rumble that ruins professional takes. This low-profile suspension system is a game-changer for anyone using short condenser microphones on boom poles or studio desks. Instead of relying on traditional elastic bands that inevitably sag and require tedious rethreading, Rycote uses their patented Lyre Mount technology for permanent, reliable isolation. The two universal clips are spaced at 25mm centers and feature a molded soft grip that keeps your mic locked in place without any slipping or twisting. It effectively kills handling and cable-borne noise, ensuring your audio remains pristine even in busy studio settings. It is a compact, professional-grade solution for maintaining total sonic clarity.

Most field recordists settle for flimsy foam covers that fail the moment a breeze picks up, but the Rycote Super-Softie Kit 416 provides the professional-grade isolation required for high-end shotgun microphones. After testing its compatibility with the Sennheiser MKH 416 and Rode NTG3, the standout feature is clearly the patented Duo-Lyre technology, which virtually eliminates those frustrating handling noises that plague boom operators. The slip-on windshield utilizes 3D-Tex material to balance extreme wind protection with a lightweight profile, weighing in at less than 110 grams. Whether you are mounting this on a boom pole or using the included brass cold-shoe adapter for on-camera work, the kit feels incredibly rugged. It is a specialized solution for serious audio engineers who cannot afford to compromise on signal purity in unpredictable environments.
