The wide, adjustable shoulder straps prevent that typical bulky, uncomfortable feeling, while the dedicated zippered interior pocket is a lifesaver for keeping small valuables like phones and keys secure. Whether you are heading to the beach or a dance class, the dual side pockets for water bottles make this a highly functional, lightweight companion for any active child.

Most people assume a drawstring sack is just a flimsy pouch for gym clothes, but the Ryushoyo bag actually functions as a surprisingly robust utility tool for active kids. The water-resistant polyester construction handles the inevitable splashes of a pool day or summer camp without letting moisture soak through to the gear inside. I was impressed by the thoughtful layout. While the main compartment is large enough to swallow a soccer ball, the dedicated internal zipper pocket is a lifesaver for keeping small essentials like keys or a phone from getting lost in the bottomless depths. The wide, adjustable shoulder straps prevent that annoying digging sensation, making it much more comfortable for long walks through a park or a beach than your standard lightweight sackpack.

The 15.4 by 11.8-inch frame is the sweet spot for 6 to 8-year-olds, easily swallowing up lunch boxes, iPads, and coats without feeling overwhelming. I particularly like the inclusion of a chest strap and sponge-lined back padding, which helps distribute weight comfortably on smaller frames.
