Best Sargent & Greenleaf in 2026

Machined brass and a relock trigger are what separate this Sargent & Greenleaf kit from the flimsier replacements out there. The relock trigger is the star: it fires if someone tries to punch the lock out, and a patented torque adjuster shrugs off repeated abuse, so the mechanism doesn't drift after a few hard knocks. Three key-changeable metal wheels support up to a million combinations, and you can change the combo right at the lock without pulling the safe apart. The non-slip wheels feel substantial and index cleanly, which matters when you're spinning a dial by feel. It's been tested against expert manipulation for over 20 hours. Sold as a complete setup — lock, dial, ring, and mounting hardware — it's a serious upgrade for a gun safe or any dial-lock box worth protecting.

Most homeowners settle for basic electronic locks that leave their valuables vulnerable the moment a battery dies or the power cuts out. The Sargent & Greenleaf Model 1004 changes that dynamic with its proprietary SpinBlocker technology, which automatically engages a motor-driven secure mechanism even without power. I found the quick-mount keypad particularly impressive because it utilizes a standard footprint, making it a breeze to retrofit onto existing home gun safes without needing to drill new holes or mess with boltwork. You can also assign two separate user codes, which adds a layer of practical flexibility for families. It is a complete, all-in-one kit that provides serious peace of mind through its heavy-duty lock bolt design.

Serious hunters and firearm collectors deserve a workspace that looks as professional as their gear collection. This LED lighting kit transforms a dark, cramped gun safe into a high-visibility display case with zero technical headache. I was particularly impressed by the installation process. You don't have to deal with cutting wires or messy tape, which is a massive relief if you aren't an electrician. The remote allows you to toggle between vibrant multi-colors or a clean white light depending on whether you're showing off a collection or just trying to find a specific optic in the dark. Because the lights run cool and maintain a low profile, they tuck away easily without cluttering your storage space. It is a smart, low-power upgrade that adds instant utility to any locker.
