Best Soultone Cymbals in 2026

After weeks of use in high-intensity rehearsal sessions, the Soultone Extreme Crash has become my go-to for adding character to a kit. This isn't your standard bright, piercing crash. Instead, the hand-hammered construction delivers a remarkably dark and deep tone that sits perfectly in a mix without washing everything out. I was particularly struck by the raw bell and raw edge, which lend a sophisticated, unpolished texture to every strike. It offers a level of sonic complexity that you usually only find in much more expensive boutique lines. Whether you are playing jazz or heavier rock, the organic response from the raw finish makes it a versatile powerhouse for any drummer looking to escape the generic metallic sound.

The Soultone Cymbals Vintage Crash delivers a sophisticated, old-school character that sets it apart from the bright, piercing cymbals often found in modern kits. After spending time with this 16-inch piece, the most striking aspect is its complex, dark tonal profile, which is a direct result of the traditional hand-hammered construction. Because it features a thinner and wider lathed profile, it responds with a beautiful, controlled wash rather than an overwhelming explosion of sound. It feels like a tool designed for drummers who prioritize musicality and texture over sheer volume. If you are looking to add a layer of warmth and vintage grit to your setup, this crash is a serious contender that punches well above its weight class.
