SUSTAINABLY CAUGHT: Sea Tales smoked mussels are caught from bottom plots. This cultivation method is called bottom culture in which the young mussels are layed down on designated areas. When the mussels are fully grown and there is a demand from the traders, the mussel farmer fishes them again. The entire life course from seed to full shell takes about two years. On shore, the mussels are then watered in special containers so that they are certainly free of sand.
