Best Lunarable Armchair Slipcovers in 2026

Prioritize Fabric Composition and Stretch Capacity

The primary function of a slipcover is to conform to the unique contours of your chair. When evaluating Lunarable options, look closely at the fabric blend. High-quality slipcovers typically utilize a heavy-duty polyester or spandex blend. A higher spandex content ensures that the cover can stretch over armrests and seat cushions without becoming translucent or losing its shape over time. If you are looking for a more formal, structured appearance, opt for a thicker, jacquard-style weave. If your goal is casual comfort or protection against pet claws, a high-density knit will provide better resistance against snagging and pilling.

Assess the Fit Architecture

Not all armchairs are created equal, and a 'one size fits all' approach rarely works in practice. To avoid a baggy, unkempt look, you must categorize your chair accurately before purchasing. Pay attention to the specific design elements: Does your chair have rolled arms, square arms, or no arms at all? Does it feature a high back or a mid-back silhouette? Lunarable designs often cater to specific geometries, so matching the cover's structural cut to your chair's frame is the most critical step in achieving a professional, 'built-in' look. A cover that is too large will bunch in the crevices, while one that is too small will pull at the seams, causing visible tension lines.

Evaluate Attachment and Stability Features

The most common complaint with slipcovers is 'slippage'—the tendency for the fabric to migrate toward the seat or slide off the arms when you sit down. When shopping, look for covers that include integrated stability features. High-quality models will feature foam tucking strips (often called foam noodles) that you wedge into the gaps between the cushions and the frame to hold the fabric taut. Additionally, check for elasticized hems or non-slip backing. A cover that relies solely on gravity will never look as polished as one that utilizes mechanical tension to stay anchored.

Consider Texture and Practical Maintenance

Beyond aesthetics, consider the lifestyle demands of your household. If you have children or pets, a textured fabric like a chenille or a heavy weave is excellent for masking small crumbs or pet hair. However, if you prefer a minimalist, modern aesthetic, a smooth, solid-colored microfiber offers a cleaner line. Always verify the laundering instructions. The best slipcovers are machine-washable and resistant to shrinking. Since these covers are frequently removed for cleaning, you want a material that dries quickly and maintains its elasticity after multiple wash cycles to prevent the cover from becoming 'stretched out' over time.
