Because it utilizes an 11-tone range, you actually have enough melodic flexibility to play various tracks rather than being stuck in a single repetitive loop. Unlike heavier beech alternatives, the birch construction provides a bright, high-end projection that makes it a powerhouse for rock or marching performances. I was particularly impressed by the integrated snare beds carved directly into the shell, which virtually eliminate annoying buzz and rattle. With eight durable tuning lugs instead of the standard six, you get much more stability and precision when tuning, even at much lower pitches. It is a visually striking instrument that sounds just as bold as its custom graphic wrap suggests.
