You might assume a sub- electric guitar is just a glorified toy, but this Ibanez model proves that entry-level gear can still punch well above its weight class. The first thing you notice is the stunning quilted Maple art grain top, which gives it a much more premium aesthetic than most beginner instruments. Underneath that visual flair, the fast, slim Maple neck makes it incredibly easy to navigate for those still building finger dexterity. I found the high output Infinity R pickups to be surprisingly punchy, providing enough grit for heavier styles without losing clarity. It is a solid, reliable choice for anyone looking to start their musical journey without breaking the bank.

The weight of this instrument is almost disorienting, as the entire 28-inch frame feels more like a piece of lightweight gear than a traditional electric guitar. At just over three pounds, the Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light is a masterclass in portability without sacrificing the essential feel of a real instrument. It maintains a full 24 3/4" scale and utilizes a sturdy one-piece Eastern American hard maple neck-through-body design, which provides a level of structural integrity you'd expect from a much larger build. The dual-rail humbucker pickup delivers a punchy tone that holds its own, even when you're cramped in an airplane overhead bin. It is a specialized tool that makes playing on the move feel completely seamless.
