Best Delong Lures Fishing Lures in 2026

Anglers hunting aggressive predators in heavy cover need these Pelican Mate soft plastic frogs to bridge the gap between realism and durability. During testing, the high-quality plastic held up remarkably well against toothy strikes without deforming, which is a massive win for anyone tired of replacing bitten-up lures mid-session. The inclusion of concentrated natural oils is a clever touch, as it mimics live bait to encourage longer holds and more reliable hook sets. I love how versatile the setup is. You can swap between exposed or weedless hooks depending on how thick the vegetation is that day. Whether you are targeting bass, pike, or even saltwater redfish, the lifelike swimming action provides exactly the kind of puzzling movement that triggers a strike.

After weeks of testing these in deep offshore waters, the immediate difference in strike rates is impossible to ignore. These Pelican Mate lures are built for serious saltwater predators, featuring a built-in 1.4oz lead head that helps you reach those deeper depths with much easier casting. The lifelike 3D eyes and contracting tentacles create an incredibly realistic silhouette, but the real magic happens in low-light conditions thanks to the specialized UV and glow coating. Whether you are chasing tuna or king salmon, the combination of the heavy weight and the size 4/0 extra strong hooks ensures that once a trophy fish hits, it stays hooked. It is a highly specialized piece of gear that brings a level of realism to trolling that most soft plastics simply cannot match.

Pelican Mate has crafted a highly effective soft bait for freshwater anglers that delivers an incredibly convincing swimming action. These 3.9-inch lures utilize a bionic design that mimics an injured loach, twisting through the water with a realistic struggle once rigged through the tail. The PVC construction provides a jelly-like, stretchy texture that is perfect for triggering aggressive strikes from bass and trout. What really sets these apart is the slow-sinking suspension, which keeps the bait in the strike zone significantly longer than standard cast-and-retrieve options. While they are optimized for bass, you can easily adapt them for saltwater species by pairing them with a jig head. It is a versatile, high-action addition to any tackle box that focuses on maximizing your time in the feeding window.

Pelican Mate Topwater Frog Lures deliver a specialized 60-degree floating angle that makes them a standout choice for surface action. I found the hollow body design incredibly effective because it keeps the body buoyant while letting the spinner tail and BKK hooks dance underwater to trigger strikes. The weedless construction is a massive relief when you are working through heavy lily pads or thick surface vegetation, as it prevents those frustrating snags. Whether you are chasing bass in a freshwater pond or targeting snakehead in saltier environments, these lures provide a steady, lifelike walking motion. The ultra-sharp BKK hooks feel secure and well-integrated, giving me confidence that a strike won't result in a lost fish. It is a versatile, reliable pack for anyone looking to add more topwater variety to their tackle box.

Bass anglers hunting for that elusive, reactive strike need these Pelican Mate crawfish lures in their tackle box immediately. What sets these apart is the specialized bionic movement. Once you thread your line through the tail hole, the lure adopts a frantic, twisting motion that perfectly mimics an injured crawfish struggling for survival. The PVC construction strikes a difficult balance by being incredibly soft and stretchy to entice bites from trout and bass, yet durable enough to survive multiple encounters. Whether you are running a ned-rig setup or pairing them with a bullet jighead, the recoil action is consistently lifelike. It is a versatile, high-action bait that turns a standard freshwater session into a much more aggressive hunt.

Most anglers settle for stiff, static plastic baits that fail to trigger predatory instincts, but the Pelican Mate bionic crawfish changes the game with its reactive design. After testing these in freshwater environments, the standout feature is clearly the recoil movement. When rigged through the tail hole, the body twists with a lifelike, struggling motion that mimics an injured prey item perfectly. The PVC construction strikes a great balance between being soft enough to feel natural in the water and durable enough to withstand multiple strikes from aggressive bass or trout. Whether you are utilizing a ned-rig or a standard bullet jighead, these 3.7-inch lures provide the necessary swimming action to draw in heavy hitters. It is a versatile addition to any tackle box for anyone targeting freshwater species.
