VATEICO has assembled a powerhouse starter kit for any angler looking to diversify their tackle box without breaking the bank. These 3.9-inch hard baits feature a high-quality ABS plastic body and an exquisite coating that mimics the natural shimmer of prey. I was particularly impressed by the internal stainless steel ball, which adds a subtle rattling sound to draw fish in while significantly stabilizing the lure during long casts. The inclusion of 3D eyes and sharp #4 treble hooks makes these look and perform like much more expensive options. Whether you are targeting bass, trout, or pike in freshwater or saltwater, the variety of colors in this ten-piece set ensures you always have the right pattern for the conditions.

You might wonder if a simple rubber tube can actually justify its space in your tackle box, but these VATEICO rigs are designed to prove the skeptics wrong. The combination of the plastic tube and high-visibility skirts creates a striking profile that works well for both casting and trolling. I particularly like the inclusion of the 362-degree high-speed barrel swivels. They do a fantastic job of preventing line twist, which is a common headache when chasing active fish. The bent shank, long hook design is clever because it helps secure the fish more effectively once they strike. Whether you are targeting striped bass in saltwater or walleye in freshwater, having a ten-pack in both red and green ensures you have the right color profile for changing water conditions.
What We Like
High-speed barrel swivels
Bent shank hooks
Vibrant color skirts
Versatile fishing styles
Multi-species compatibility
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Delong Lures Fishing Lures before you buy.
DeLong lures are engineered with specific weight distributions that prioritize unique action patterns, often providing a more erratic, lifelike movement that triggers predatory strikes more effectively than generic alternatives.
While many models are built with durable finishes, you should check the specific coating of the model you select. Some are optimized for freshwater environments and may require extra rinsing after saltwater use to prevent corrosion.
For those just starting, soft plastics or versatile crankbaits are recommended, as they are more forgiving in terms of casting accuracy and offer a wider range of effectiveness across different water depths.
Select natural, translucent colors for clear water and high-visibility or dark, high-contrast colors for murky or stained water to ensure the silhouette remains visible to fish.
Standard crankbaits and topwater models may snag easily in weeds. For heavy cover, look for their weedless soft plastic options or slim-profile jigs designed to slide through vegetation.
DeLong offers a diverse lineup ranging from shallow-running topwater models to deep-diving crankbaits, so your choice should depend entirely on the specific thermocline or depth where your target species is holding.
You should inspect the hooks for sharpness and the body for paint chips regularly. Once the action becomes unbalanced or the hooks dull, the lure's effectiveness decreases significantly.
