Most people assume a high-performance EDC knife has to look purely utilitarian, but the Spirit Dodge proves that elegance can actually enhance field utility. I was immediately struck by how the hand-forged VG10 core is wrapped in beautiful Damascus steel, creating a blade that is as much a collector's piece as it is a workhorse. The rosewood handle feels incredibly natural in the hand thanks to its ergonomic shape and traditional Japanese decorative patterns, making repetitive tasks feel much less taxing. Whether you are slicing line during a fishing trip or prepping gear while camping, the liner lock provides the kind of rapid, one-handed deployment and safety you need when things get busy. Even the cowhide sheath feels premium, secured with rugged wax rope for reliable belt carry.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Metal Knives before you buy.
Stainless steel is highly resistant to rust and corrosion, making it low-maintenance for daily use. Carbon steel holds a sharper edge for longer but is prone to oxidation and requires immediate drying to prevent staining.
It is a hybrid material that combines the rust resistance of stainless steel with the superior edge retention and hardness provided by added carbon, offering a balance of durability and performance.
A well-balanced knife should feel centered at the bolster (where the blade meets the handle). When held, the weight should distribute evenly between the blade and the handle, preventing wrist fatigue during long cutting sessions.
Forged knives are made from a single piece of heated metal and are generally heavier, more durable, and better balanced. Stamped knives are cut from sheets of steel. They are lighter, more affordable, and ideal for casual kitchen use.
For heavy daily use, professional sharpening is recommended every 6 to 12 months. For regular home cooks, frequent use of a honing rod can maintain the edge between professional sharpenings.
No. The high heat, harsh detergents, and turbulent water can dull the blade, damage the handle, and cause premature corrosion. Always hand wash and dry knives immediately.
A full tang means the metal of the blade extends all the way through the length of the handle. This provides maximum strength, superior balance, and prevents the blade from snapping off the handle under pressure.
