Best Armen Living Living Room Chairs in 2026

Define Your Design Language

Armen Living is known for its stylistic versatility, but their collections often lean toward high-fashion, trend-forward designs. Before purchasing, identify which 'vibe' dominates your room. If your home follows a minimalist or Scandinavian influence, look for chairs with tapered wooden legs, clean lines, and neutral upholstery like linen or woven blends. If you are aiming for a maximalist or Hollywood Regency aesthetic, prioritize pieces featuring deep jewel-toned velvets, gold-finished metal frames, and tufted detailing. Matching the 'weight' of the chair to your decor is crucial. A heavy, overstuffed armchair can overwhelm a small, airy room, whereas a sleek slipper chair might feel lost in a formal, traditional setting.

Prioritize Ergonomics and Scale

A common pitfall in living room shopping is prioritizing silhouette over comfort. Because many Armen Living designs focus on visual impact, it is vital to consider the seat depth and back height. For a primary lounge chair, look for a deeper seat that allows you to sink in. For accent chairs used primarily for entertaining, a firmer, more upright structure is often preferable to maintain a formal posture. Additionally, always measure your space—not just the footprint of the chair, but the 'clearance zone' around it. An accent chair needs enough breathing room to look intentional rather than cluttered, and you must ensure the armrests do not impede movement through walkways.

Material Selection and Maintenance

The upholstery is the soul of the chair. Armen Living utilizes a wide array of materials, each requiring a different level of upkeep. Velvet is a hallmark of their luxury lines. While it offers an incredible tactile experience and rich color depth, it can attract pet hair and requires occasional brushing to maintain the nap. If you have children or pets, consider high-performance polyester blends or tightly woven fabrics that resist staining and wear. Furthermore, pay attention to the frame materials. Metal-framed chairs offer a modern, industrial edge and exceptional stability, while wooden frames provide a classic warmth and can vary significantly in tone from light oak to dark walnut.

The Role of the Accent Chair

Not every chair in your living room needs to be a sofa. Often, the best use of an Armen Living piece is as an accent chair. These are pieces designed to break up the monotony of larger furniture. Use a chair with a bold texture or a contrasting color to create a focal point. A well-chosen accent chair can bridge the gap between different furniture styles, acting as a transitional piece that ties a room's color palette together. When selecting an accent piece, consider if it will be used for solitary relaxation or as part of a social circle. This will dictate whether you need a chair with arms or a more compact, armless design.
