Best Xs Mens Soccer Shorts in 2026

Most people assume that buying athletic gear in bulk means sacrificing the technical specs you need for a real workout. I found the opposite to be true with these Real Essentials mesh shorts. They feature a 9-inch inseam that provides a loose, stretchy fit, which is a game-changer when you are pivoting on a basketball court or sprinting during soccer drills. The moisture-wicking fabric actually does its job, keeping you dry through intense gym sessions rather than just soaking up sweat. I love that the adjustable drawstring waist ensures they stay secure while you move. Since you get five pairs in a variety of colors, you can easily rotate through your activewear without breaking the bank or worrying about laundry day.

Real Essentials has secured a top-tier spot for budget-conscious athletes needing reliable training gear. These 9-inch inseam shorts are a standout because the polyester and spandex blend offers the exact kind of stretch required for high-intensity basketball or soccer drills. I found the moisture-wicking Dry Fit technology to be incredibly effective, preventing that heavy, soaked feeling during long gym sessions. They feel lightweight and breathable, making them just as suitable for a quick run as they are for casual daily wear. The classic black colorway keeps things sleek, while the quick-drying fabric ensures you aren't stuck in damp clothes after a heavy sweat. It is a solid, versatile essential for anyone building a functional workout wardrobe without breaking the bank.

Your son is mid-slide into second base, and instead of flinching or adjusting uncomfortable gear, he stays focused entirely on the play. These Youper sliding shorts solve the age-old struggle of getting young athletes to actually wear protection. By swapping out the rigid, clunky hard cups of the past for a specialized soft foam system, Youper has created something that actually contours to a youth body. The 88% polyester and 12% spandex blend provides a four-way stretch that moves naturally during lacrosse, football, or baseball, while the moisture-wicking fabric prevents that heavy, sweaty feeling. It is a lightweight, field-tested solution for boys aged 4 to 13 who need impact dispersion without the constant fidgeting caused by traditional athletic supporters.

The adidas Squadra 21 Shorts deliver elite moisture management that makes them a reliable staple for any soccer player. I found the AEROREADY technology to be incredibly effective at pulling sweat away from the skin, keeping you feeling dry even during high-intensity drills or matches. The fit is highly customizable thanks to the elastic waistband and integrated drawcord, ensuring the shorts stay securely in place while you move. Beyond the performance, there is a real sense of responsibility in the construction, as these are crafted using Primegreen high-performance recycled materials. At this price point, you are getting a professional-grade piece of kit that balances athletic functionality with a conscious approach to manufacturing.

Your long-distance training sessions just got a lot more comfortable thanks to the thoughtful design of these Lixada shorts. I put these to the test during a humid morning jog, and the 100% polyester fabric worked overtime to wick moisture away while the side mesh vents kept the airflow moving. The standout feature is definitely the built-in long mesh liner. It stays smooth against the skin to prevent that dreaded chafing during heavy movement. I also appreciated the secure zippered back pocket for keeping my keys tucked away safely. Just a heads-up for your order: these follow EU sizing, so you'll want to size up by one to get that perfect US fit.

The PURE CHAMP French Terry shorts offer an impressive blend of athletic utility and casual comfort that makes this three-pack an essential staple for any active wardrobe. After testing the fabric, the 60/40 cotton-polyester blend feels remarkably lightweight and breathable, which is a lifesaver during intense bodybuilding sessions or long hikes. I was particularly impressed by the practical pocket layout. Having three total pockets—including a rear option—all secured with heavy-duty zippers provides real peace of mind when you're jogging or cycling with your phone and keys. The adjustable drawstring waist and the right above-the-knee cut ensure a secure, tailored fit that doesn't feel restrictive. Whether you are hitting the weight room or just lounging at home, these shorts handle the transition between high-performance training and relaxation effortlessly.

Most gym shorts force you to choose between mobility and storage, but the Soothfeel 7-inch shorts actually manage to balance both. I found the split hem design particularly effective for maintaining agility during high-intensity movements, providing just enough room through the glutes and thighs without feeling baggy. The standout feature for me is the pocket configuration. Having a dedicated deep zipper pocket means my phone and keys don't bounce around or slide out mid-run. The fabric is impressively lightweight and handles sweat well, drying quickly enough to transition from a heavy gym session to a casual hike. Plus, the adjustable drawstring allows you to tuck the cord inside the waistband if you prefer a cleaner, less bulky look.

You might hesitate to pull the trigger on a generic brand at this price point, but these black volleyball shorts are a surprisingly versatile addition to any gym bag. I found that the 8-inch length hits that sweet spot for athletic movement without feeling overly restrictive or too short during intense training sessions. The stretch fabric is the real hero here, providing enough flexibility for high-intensity volleyball drills or casual running without losing shape. Whether you are hitting the court for a match or just looking for comfortable, high-waisted workout gear for a heavy lifting day, these shorts handle the sweat and movement remarkably well. They offer a streamlined fit that feels much more premium than the low cost would suggest.
