Best Wood Outdoor Lanterns in 2026

Empty shelves and uninspired porches often lack that warm, inviting glow that makes a house feel like a home. This Glitzhome farmhouse lantern solves that aesthetic gap by adding instant character to any space, whether you are styling a tabletop or hanging it from a tree branch. At 16.5 inches tall, it has a substantial presence without being heavy, weighing in at just under 1.5 pounds. The white metal coating provides a clean, rustic look that transitions beautifully from summer patio gatherings to cozy Christmas decor. While you will need to provide your own LED candle to get it glowing, the versatility of using it on stairs, walls, or even as a wedding centerpiece makes it a highly functional decorative piece.

The tactile contrast between the distressed natural firwood and the matte black metal hinges immediately sets a rustic, high-end tone for your entryway. These Glitzhome lanterns ditch the traditional glass panes in favor of open arch windows, which allows light to breathe and prevents the trapped heat issues often found in enclosed decor. I love how versatile they are. You can drop in a large pillar candle for a classic glow or swap the wax for succulents to create a living centerpiece. Because they feature a flame-retardant galvanized metal floor, you can use real candles with much more peace of mind. Whether hanging on a porch or standing on a patio table, this two-piece set brings a sophisticated, weathered charm to any outdoor space.

Picture your backyard patio or entryway transformed into a cozy sanctuary as the evening sun dips below the horizon. I love that the set includes two distinct sizes to create visual depth on a mantle or floor. They are surprisingly versatile too. You can set them on a flat surface or use the sturdy metal ring to hang them as wall sconces. Whether you're styling a wedding centerpiece or just adding a rustic touch to your porch, these provide a warm, inviting glow that feels authentically vintage.
