Best Oil Paintings in 2026

Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Colors represent the gold standard for aspiring painters looking to transition from student grades to professional-feeling materials. What really sets this ten-tube collection apart is the impressively high pigment load, which allows you to work in large volumes without sacrificing color intensity. The consistency is noticeably stiffer and more uniform than many other ranges, meaning your brush and palette knife strokes actually hold their shape on the canvas rather than flattening out. It is a reliable, lightfast toolkit featuring essentials like French Ultramarine and Burnt Sienna. While you will get the best results by pairing these with specific Winsor & Newton mediums and solvents, the stability of the paint film makes it a sturdy foundation for any growing studio.

These IVSUN paint pens certainly attempt to do just that by providing a versatile, 20-color palette that handles everything from smooth glass to textured rocks. During testing, the oil-based ink proved impressively opaque, allowing for multiple layers without the colors muddying or bleeding into one another. The 3mm medium tips offer enough precision for detailed journal work while remaining substantial enough for large canvas projects. Since the ink is waterproof and quick-drying, you can skip the tedious baking or sealing steps usually required for permanent crafts. Just remember to follow the shake-uncap-press-draw routine to keep that ink flowing smoothly across different surfaces.
