Best 256Gb Phones in 2026

The iPhone 17 Pro in Cosmic Orange is the rare phone that makes people ask what you're holding. It arrives unlocked for both GSM and CDMA networks, so AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and prepaid brands like Mint or Cricket are all on the table — though it's worth confirming compatibility with your carrier first. This renewed unit shows up with a generic MFi-certified charger and cable, no headphones or SIM card, and activation is a quick connect-to-Wi-Fi-and-follow-the-prompts affair via eSIM. Every device is tested for battery health and guaranteed to hold at least 80 percent capacity. For 256GB, you're getting flagship hardware well under new retail, with the usual renewed caveats about cosmetic wear.

That 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel is the whole reason to step up from the smaller model. With QHD+ resolution and an adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, text stays razor sharp while scrolling feels slippery-smooth, and the roughly 2,600-nit peak brightness means you can actually read it on a sunny sidewalk instead of cupping your hand over the glass. This renewed US-version Galaxy S24+ pairs 256GB of storage with 5G connectivity in a matte Onyx Black finish that shrugs off fingerprints. Renewed at this price is the quiet value play in Samsung's lineup — expect the odd cosmetic scuff, but the display and day-to-day speed feel like new.

The iPhone 14 in Midnight still runs circles around plenty of newer midrange phones, and it does it for a fraction of what it cost new. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED panel is the headliner: colors pop, blacks go deep, and text stays crisp whether you're scrolling at night or squinting in direct sun. Action mode genuinely steadies handheld video, smoothing out the bounce in walking shots without extra gear. At 256GB, storage stops being a daily worry, since apps, photos, and downloads all fit comfortably. As a renewed, unlocked unit it works with any carrier right out of the box. It's a quiet value play worth grabbing.

Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max in Deep Blue is the phone to beat if you want the biggest screen and the latest silicon without paying full retail. This renewed 256GB unit ships unlocked for both GSM and CDMA networks, so moving to Verizon, T-Mobile, or Mint Mobile is mostly a matter of inserting a compatible SIM and following the on-screen prompts. It's eSIM-based, which makes activation quick once you're on Wi-Fi. Apple skips the SIM card and headphones here—you get a generic MFi-certified charger and cable instead—but each device is tested and guaranteed to hold at least 80% battery capacity. For a flagship this fresh, that's a lot of phone for the money.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is about as close to a pocket-sized workstation as a phone gets, and this renewed 256GB Titanium Black model puts that hardware within reach for far less than you'd pay new. The 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel is the headline act — adaptive 1–120Hz refresh keeps scrolling silky, and brightness that climbs toward 2600 nits means you can genuinely read it in direct sun. Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip with 12GB of RAM powers through AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking without a hiccup. Around back, the 200MP main sensor and dual telephoto lenses switch effortlessly from ultrawide landscapes to crisp 5x zoom shots. Add a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging, Qi2 wireless, and an IP68 titanium frame, and it's a seriously complete flagship.

Titanium is the headline here, and it genuinely changes how this phone feels — the iPhone 15 Pro Max is noticeably lighter in hand than earlier Pro Max models, even with that big 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR screen keeping ProMotion scrolling and the Always-On display running. The A17 Pro chip with its 6-core GPU never stumbles, and the 48MP main sensor paired with Ultra Wide and Telephoto delivers up to 10x optical zoom range and next-generation portraits with real focus and depth control. Battery life reaches up to 29 hours of video playback, USB-C with USB 3 support makes transfers up to 20x faster, and satellite-based Emergency SOS, Crash Detection, and Roadside Assistance add genuine peace of mind.

The iPhone 17 Pro in Deep Blue arrives as a renewed flagship, which means you're stepping into Apple's newest Pro tier without the new-unit premium. This 256GB configuration hits the practical sweet spot — enough room for apps, photos, and video without paying for storage you'll never touch. What stands out is the accountability: every unit is tested and guaranteed to hold at least 80% battery capacity, a concrete number rather than a vague promise. Before ordering, confirm two things with your carrier — it's the US version, and it's eSIM-only. In stock it's a straightforward way to go Pro.

For the budget-conscious, there’s the rare smartphone that gives you something that few others have at that price: a built-in stylus that lets you go to town whenever the creative mood hits. Scribble down notes on the 6.7-inch pOLED display. Draw. Edit pictures. You don’t need to ever search for a pen. The 50MP camera with Sony LYTIA sensor and OIS performs pretty decently in low light situations. Hear a more expansive sound with Dolby Atmos for streaming. There’s a spacious 256GB storage. A quick 15-minute charge with a compatible TurboPower charger may be all you need for the day (sold separately). IP68 water resistance. Drop-tested vegan leather for a well-rounded, more-than-capable daily driver from Motorola’s Moto G Stylus.

Galaxy S23+ is super bright. The 6.6" Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the S23+ goes up to ~1750 nits. And it has the adaptive refresh rate (48-120hz) and Vision Booster to work with so that it can be read well even in glaring midday sunlight, while remaining super smooth when you need it to. And the latter is particularly important when used outside, where inferior displays get washed out. It's a renewed US version with 256GB and Phantom Black. Unlocked for use on any carrier. Quite a bold claim for flagship specs. It's a "renewed" so it's not new sealed in box. Rather it's just been checked. So keep that in mind. But there aren't many of these left. So now's the time to think about it if the display's what you're after.

Motorola's Moto G Stylus 2025 offers something few budget devices do: a real pen-style stylus. Draw, doodle or edit pictures without having to grab a stylus. And when you’re done, tuck it back into the frame. The 6.7" pOLED display shows over a billion colors. It's Dolby Atmos sound. The back is vegan leather. It looks and feels like something you shouldn't be able to get at this price. It's also IP68 water-resistant and meets MIL-SPEC drop standards. Plus 256GB storage with RAM Boost. And charging is said to give you a full day of battery life in just 15 minutes with the correct adapter. A great everyday phone for taking notes, students and so much more.

Titanium affects the iPhone 15 Pro Max hand feel - it is lighter than its footprint. The back has a textured matte finish that is much less prone to fingerprints compared to glossy glass. The 6.7" ProMotion screen is smooth and very easy to read in direct sunlight. Always on screen and Dynamic island make it nearly effortless to read notifications. A17 Pro provides power for gaming and 4K editing without any issues. 48MP main camera delivers usable low light photos with good crops. Long battery life is a hidden gem - up to 29 hours of video playback. USB-C with USB 3 speeds make it easy to transfer video files. Lots of flagship goodness for a renewed price.

And the Galaxy S23 Ultra still feels like a flagship in all the right ways. With that huge 6.8" Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, QHD+ resolution, HDR10+ support, adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate (smooth scrolling, high FPS gaming), able to crank up the brightness to around 1750 nits to still see what's going on in direct sunlight. The 256GB of storage, unlocked US radio versions means you can pick your own carrier without issues. And it's a fraction of the cost from what it originally sold for. In stock too. So if you want a big bright fast display but don't want to pay new flagship price - check it out.

The 6.9-inch screen of the iPhone 16 Pro Max makes multi-screen emails, photo edits, and movie watching feel spacious. With ProMotion technology's 120Hz refresh rate, you'll get smooth scrolling and a snappy experience for high-speed games. It has an advanced color management system that ensures skin tones and color gradients stay consistent and isn't overly saturated. With 256GB of storage, a black titanium finish, and an unlocked configuration that's ready for your existing carrier. You're getting high-level display tech that's renewed and ready to go without a first day price tag. It's available now.

The iPhone 12 Pro at 256GB remains one of the smartest used-phone buys out there, and this renewed Graphite unit delivers the essentials without the flagship price. The flat-edge stainless steel design still feels substantial in hand, the triple-camera setup turns out genuinely excellent photos, and 256GB of storage means you aren't constantly clearing space before a trip. Just read the fine print first: this one is locked to Verizon, so confirm your carrier before ordering — there's no unlocking it later. Battery health is guaranteed at 80% or better, which is a realistic floor for a used device rather than a fresh-from-the-box figure. Activation is simple once you pop in a compatible SIM, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the prompts. At this price, it's a strong pick for Verizon users who want Apple polish on a budget.

The iPhone 17e sits in a sweet spot that's easy to overlook: a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display wrapped in Ceramic Shield 2, with an anti-reflective coating that genuinely cuts glare in daylight. Inside, the A19 chip and 16-core Neural Engine keep iOS 26 gliding along, and the 48MP Fusion main camera delivers clean, stabilized shots — its optical-quality 2x telephoto is a nice bonus at this price. You get up to 26 hours of video playback and Qi2 magnetic charging that plays nicely with MagSafe accessories. Two things to know before buying: it's eSIM-only with no physical SIM tray, and 5G is sub-6GHz only. Renewed Premium trims the cost while the hardware still feels current.
