Best Coonium in 2026

Most cyclists assume a mismatched frame and derailleur size means an expensive new component purchase, but this tiny piece of aluminum changes that math entirely. The COONIUM shim kit is a clever solution for anyone trying to mount a larger clamp onto a smaller frame tube without sacrificing stability. I found the aluminum alloy construction to be incredibly sturdy, providing a non-slip fit that prevents the derailleur from twisting under shifting pressure. At just 7.5 grams, it adds virtually zero weight to your build while solving a massive compatibility headache. Whether you are stepping up from 28.6mm to 34.9mm or need a middle ground, having these specific size options makes upgrading your drivetrain much more accessible and budget-friendly.

You might doubt that a tiny piece of metal can solve a massive compatibility headache, but this COONIUM spacer shim is exactly the bridge your drivetrain needs. It is a remarkably simple solution for cyclists trying to marry a 22/24 mm GXP spindle with BB86, BB92, or BSA threaded bottom brackets that demand a 24mm Shimano standard. I found the aluminum alloy construction to be impressively sturdy despite the weight being a negligible 2.1g. Instead of replacing an entire bottom bracket assembly, this shim allows you to repurpose your existing hardware with precision. It is a niche component, but for anyone navigating the complex world of spindle standards, it is a lightweight lifesaver that ensures a proper fit.
