Best Fritschi in 2026

Serious backcountry enthusiasts demanding a perfect blend of touring efficiency and downhill control will find their holy grail in the Fritschi Xenic 10. I was particularly impressed by how the sophisticated tech manages to simplify operation without sacrificing the precision needed for technical terrain. The broad step-in pedal and fixed stop make getting into your bindings effortless, which is a huge win when you're tired at the end of a long skin track. Downhill, the innovative frontal unit provides a secure, locked-in feel that doesn't hinder movement, while the exceptionally broad heel unit ensures every ounce of energy translates directly to your edges. Plus, the infinite adjustability paired with 10 mm length compensation means you get a truly defined release every single time.

The Burton Step On Men's Snowboard Bindings redefine convenience with a revolutionary click-in connection system. Gone are the days of fumbling with cumbersome straps in the freezing cold. Instead, you get an instantaneous, secure fit through the specialized ankle and dual toe connections. These bindings utilize a composite highback for responsive control, paired with a Re:Flex baseplate that ensures your board flexes naturally underfoot. The inclusion of FullBED padding makes a noticeable difference in vibration dampening, providing a much smoother ride through choppy terrain. It is a high-performance setup designed for riders who prioritize speed, efficiency, and a direct connection to their edges without sacrificing the comfort required for a full day on the mountain.

Babe's Boot Butter is the ultimate kelp-based solution for sliding into bindings without the mess. I love how the consistency stays exactly where you put it. It's thick enough to coat the top of your wakeboard or kiteboard bindings without dripping away before you can get your foot in. Unlike the old-school method of using dish soap, which can actually dry out your gear and harm the ecosystem, this formula is environmentally safe and water-soluble. It washes away effortlessly the moment you hit the water, so you aren't left with a greasy residue. It’s easy to see why professional and collegiate athletes rely on this for their daily sessions. Whether you are waterskiing or kiteboarding, this stuff just works.

This patented gear transforms your skis into a comfortable, backpack-style load in just ten seconds by simply sliding them into the adjustable loops. I was particularly impressed by the clever 30° inclination, which prevents the ski tips from banging against your head or lower back while you move. Because the straps are fully adjustable, you can customize the weight distribution to your specific build. When you finally reach the lodge, the carrier folds down small enough to tuck right into your jacket pocket, making it an incredibly low-profile solution for anyone tired of lopsided gear.

Riders often struggle with the frustrating gap between heavy-duty edge control and the lateral freedom needed for playful carving. These Rossignol Battle bindings bridge that divide using a Mainframe Highback that pairs a rigid center for massive heelside power with engineered flex zones for side-to-side mobility. I found the 3D molded TPU One Shot straps particularly impressive, as they wrap the boot both vertically and laterally to ensure instant power transmission. To keep things smooth on choppy terrain, the puffy pad footbeds utilize dual-zone compression and thermoformed EVA to soak up vibrations. Even the entry process feels premium thanks to the durable cast aluminum baselight buckles that make ratcheting quick and effortless during a busy day on the mountain.

It is a versatile, unisex essential that works just as well for skiing as it does for a morning jog.

Navigating a crowded airport terminal with heavy gear becomes significantly less stressful when your equipment rolls smoothly on heavy-duty wheels. I put the Athletico Rolling Double Ski Bag to the test, and the 10mm dense foam padding provides much-needed peace of mind against accidental bumps during transit. The 600D water-resistant polyester exterior feels incredibly rugged, while the internal thermal, waterproof lining acts as a solid shield for your skis. I particularly liked how the internal straps secured my gear, preventing that annoying sliding motion that usually eats up storage space. Whether you are dragging it through slushy parking lots or over airport tiles, the all-weather tarpaulin bottom ensures the bag can handle the grit of real-world travel.

Most riders end up fighting with restrictive, single-size boots that offer zero versatility, but the AIRHEAD Venom changes the game by prioritizing a customizable fit. I found that the open-toe design is a massive win for anyone sharing gear, as it comfortably accommodates a wide range from US size 9 to 12.
