Best Rollerfly in 2026

Why should a goaltender's lateral mobility be limited by the friction of their own equipment? The Rollerfly changes the game for inline and roller hockey keepers by replacing traditional sliding with actual rolling motion. This four-piece set uses hard plastic plates embedded with high-quality ball bearings, allowing you to glide effortlessly through the butterfly position. It is a massive relief for anyone tired of seeing black tape marks scarring their driveway or indoor flooring. Because the plates are designed to be easily strapped on and removed, you can transition from practice to play without a headache. It fits most adult leg pads between 32 and 38 inches, making it a versatile upgrade for almost any goalie looking to revolutionize their positioning.

The chrome-welded steel cage catches the light with a professional sheen that makes any young Buffalo Sabres fan feel like they just stepped onto a pro rink. This mask is purpose-built for the driveway or the cul-de-sac, specifically designed for play with a 2 5/8” street hockey ball. I love how the quick-snap elastic straps allow kids to gear up or ditch the helmet in seconds without a struggle. Because it features an adjustable backplate, you won't have to worry about a loose fit as they grow. Just remember that this is strictly for street hockey. It lacks HECC/CSA certification, so keep it away from ice hockey pucks and stick to the neighborhood games.

Most hockey players assume a massive gear bag is the only way to travel, but this backpack proves you can ditch the heavy duffel without sacrificing space. The standout feature is the vented side pockets designed specifically for skates, which actually include black terry cloth blade covers to keep your edges protected and your other gear clean. I was impressed by the rugged 900D PVC polyester and oxford cloth construction, which feels built to survive the rough handling of a locker room. Beyond the pads and sticks, the elevated, dense foam laptop sleeve is a lifesaver for student-athletes needing to carry tech alongside their equipment. With the contoured air mesh straps, it remains comfortable even when you've stuffed the main drawstring compartment to capacity.

Picture yourself in your driveway or a garage during the off-season, working on that lightning-fast deke that finally gets you noticed by scouts. The crisp scent of fresh gear and the sturdy weight of a complete kit make the Winnwell Cleansport NXT set a standout choice for any young player's first season. This six-piece starter pack removes the guesswork from outfitting a beginner by bundling shoulder pads, pants, gloves, elbow pads, shin pads, and a dedicated storage bag. I found the NXT technology particularly impressive because it focuses on breathability and odor reduction, which is a lifesaver for gear that spends a lot of time in a hockey bag. While it doesn't include a helmet, it provides all the essential body protection needed to hit the ice safely. The sizing is thoughtfully tiered from small to large to accommodate growing athletes between ages four and nine, ensuring a comfortable fit that doesn't sacrifice mobility.

Most skaters settle for basic guards that inadvertently dull their blades every time they walk, but RollerGard changes the game with a patented design that prevents the metal from ever touching the bottom of the guard. I was impressed by how this simple structural shift actually helps you sharpen your skates less often, saving both time and money. These are specifically engineered for skaters under 200lbs using size 9 skates or smaller, ensuring a snug, reliable fit. While the focus is on blade protection, the set also includes durable, non-marking wheels and ABEC 5 bearings for smooth indoor and outdoor transitions. It is a smart investment for anyone looking to extend the lifespan of their equipment while maintaining peak performance on the ice.

Most players settle for static drills that fail to mimic the unpredictable nature of a real game, but the My Enemy training aid forces you to adapt. This European-made tool uses a patented five-rib design that stretches up to 65 inches, allowing you to customize angles for specific puck control drills. I found the portability a massive plus. Weighing just 1.8 pounds, you can move from the driveway to the garage without a second thought. It even comes with a Swedish wooden ball to get you started immediately. What really sets this apart is the interactive training app, which effectively turns your smartphone into a digital coach to keep your reaction times sharp and your hands soft during off-ice sessions.

Better Hockey Extreme Dryland Flooring Tiles deliver a professional-grade synthetic ice experience that actually mimics the slickness of a real rink. I was genuinely impressed by how smoothly a puck glides across these panels, making them a massive step up from standard floor training. Whether you are setting up a dedicated indoor zone or utilizing an outdoor space, the weather-proof coating handles the elements without losing that essential glide. It is easy to snap these 18-inch tiles together to build a custom training area in minutes. While you shouldn't try to skate on them, they serve as the ultimate tool for honing stickhandling, passing, and shooting precision. It is no wonder you see these in the training regimens of NHL pros and youth players alike.

Sweat dripping into a goalie's eyes during a high-stakes match is a distraction no player can afford. These A&R Sports replacement sweatbands are designed specifically to sit inside your mask or helmet, acting as a critical barrier between your skin and your gear. I found the Terry cotton construction to be incredibly absorbent, which is essential for managing heavy moisture during intense play. Since A&R Sports has been a staple in the sports accessory market for over two decades, you can feel the experience behind this design. You get a single pair in the package, and having the option to choose between black or white ensures you can match your existing equipment perfectly without any aesthetic clashing.

Most young athletes settle for flimsy headgear that slips during play, but the Franklin Sports Glory mask provides the specialized protection required for serious street and indoor hockey. After testing the fit, the quick-snap elastic straps are a standout, allowing for a tight, adjustable seal that stays secure even during intense movement. The construction feels incredibly rugged, pairing a high-impact plastic shell with a welded steel cage to ensure safety against fast-moving pucks. I particularly liked the vented shell design. It prevents that stifling feeling during summer games, making the mask feel much lighter and more breathable than typical youth gear. It is a solid, modern piece of equipment that builds the confidence a goalie needs to stand their ground.

The Get Out! Hockey Shooting Pad is a standout training essential that bridges the gap between the driveway and the rink. By utilizing high-density polyethylene, this single-layer mat offers a smooth, slippery surface that mimics the feel of real ice while providing just enough friction to build valuable hand strength. Unlike modular tile systems that can snag your equipment, this seamless design protects your expensive sticks and green biscuits from catching on edges. It is incredibly easy to roll up and store, making it a portable solution for off-season skill building. Whether you are working on puck handling or rapid-fire shooting, this durable, weather-resistant mat turns any flat surface into a professional-grade practice zone.

Skate Anytime has engineered a professional-grade training solution for hockey players who refuse to let a lack of rink access stall their development. Unlike basic plastic sheeting, these injection-molded panels utilize a European design to provide a smooth glide that is notably gentler on your skate blades. I love how versatile this setup is. You can roll it out on a driveway, in a garage, or even a basement to work on edge work and puck touches without needing any messy glide solutions. It arrives ready to use right out of the box, making it incredibly easy to assemble and store when you're done. For any athlete looking to gain confidence through repetition and unlimited ice time, this expandable kit is a total game-changer.

Young aspiring netminders aged four to seven will find this Franklin Sports set to be the ultimate starter kit for backyard battles. Instead of hunting down individual pieces, you get a complete goalie setup right out of the box, featuring an adjustable mask, two leg pads, a catch glove, and a blocker. I was particularly impressed by the thoughtful construction. The soft foam pads and blockers prioritize breathability and comfort, which is essential for active kids. The molded plastic mask includes a Shok-Sorb foam liner to ensure safety during play. Just remember that this gear is purpose-built specifically for mini hockey using foam balls or pucks, so don't try to use it for full-sized competitive play. It is a fantastic, all-in-one solution for budding hockey fans.

The Franklin Sports Kids Street Hockey Goalie Pads Set is a complete starter kit that takes the guesswork out of equipping a budding netminder. Instead of hunting for individual pieces, you get a coordinated trio consisting of a 20-inch leg pad set, a 9-inch catch glove, and a 13.5-inch blocker. The black and optic yellow color scheme looks sharp on the driveway, and the adjustable strap design ensures the gear actually stays in place during intense play. Since this is officially licensed by the NHL, it is specifically optimized for use with 2 5/8" street hockey balls. It is an excellent entry point for young athletes looking to master the fundamentals of goaltending without breaking the bank.

A heavy puck flying toward your throat at thirty miles per hour is the ultimate nightmare for any goaltender. The Aegis Interceptor G is designed specifically to mitigate that terror using advanced D30 technology to absorb high-velocity impacts. While most protective gear feels like wearing a heavy suit of armor, this setup prioritizes a lightweight, high-performance feel that doesn't compromise on safety. It fits snugly to ensure the protection stays exactly where you need it during lateral movements and aggressive butterfly saves. Even though it is a smaller, more streamlined piece of equipment, the specialized impact protection provides the peace of mind necessary to stay focused on the puck rather than your own vulnerability.

How much protection can a goalie actually afford to sacrifice for comfort? The Interceptor G by AIP AEGIS IMPACT PROTECTION answers this by integrating advanced D3O technology directly into the neck guard's architecture. During testing, the impact-absorbing properties of the D3O material felt substantial, providing a sense of security that standard foam guards simply cannot match. It is designed specifically for the high-stakes environment of the crease, where rogue sticks and pucks are a constant threat. While the LG/XL sizing ensures a secure fit for larger players, the real standout is the balance between rigid protection and the mobility required to track a puck through traffic. At a price point, it feels like a specialized piece of kit rather than a generic accessory.

Dragging a massive pile of heavy goalie gear through a crowded parking lot usually feels like a wrestling match, but this bag changes that dynamic entirely. The OBO Stand-up Wheelie is built specifically for the heavy-duty needs of a goalkeeper, utilizing six durable wheels to distribute weight effectively as you roll toward the pitch. I love the clever stand-up design, which prevents the bag from toppling over when you're reaching for your kickers or gloves in the large zippered main compartment. The telescoping handle feels sturdy under pressure, and the adjustable straps offer great versatility for different carrying styles. To top it off, the cheeky 'Goalkeepers are amazing people' text adds a bit of personality to what is otherwise a highly functional, professional-grade piece of equipment.

The Bauer Elite Hockey Wheeled Bag is a massive storage solution that solves the heavy lifting struggle for senior players. After testing its capacity, it is clear that the large 36-inch frame is designed to swallow an entire set of heavy gear without breaking a sweat. Moving through crowded locker rooms or parking lots feels much more manageable thanks to the integrated wheel system, which takes the strain off your shoulders. At a price point, this bag feels like a dedicated piece of professional equipment rather than a flimsy afterthought. It is built for the rigors of a long season, providing a reliable, organized home for all your essential hockey hardware.

Fix My Gear Goalie Pad Boot Lifts provide a critical one-inch elevation that can completely transform your stance in the crease. As a goalie, even a slight misalignment in your equipment can throw off your butterfly technique or cause unnecessary strain on your ankles. These lifts are designed specifically to address that gap, helping you find a more natural and aggressive positioning within your pads. They feel like a specialized fix for a very specific problem, offering a way to fine-tune your gear without needing a complete overhaul of your setup. It is a targeted solution for players looking to optimize their mobility and technical execution on the ice.

You might wonder if adding an extra layer under your goalie gloves is actually worth the bulk, but the Franklin Sports Tuukka Rask CFX set changes the equation for young goaltenders. This kit is surprisingly versatile because it includes two distinct left-hand gloves tailored for different scenarios. One version features heavy palm padding specifically to handle the punishing impact of high-velocity practice shots, while the second version strips that extra padding away to prioritize a natural grip and comfort during actual games. The digitally-etched sheepskin leather feels incredibly soft, and the quad-flex creasing prevents that annoying material bunching in the palm. It is a smart, specialized solution for players who want to protect their hands without sacrificing their ability to feel the puck.

A junior goalie facing a heavy slap shot needs more than just padding. They need confidence in their gear. The PowerTek Barikad V5.0 delivers that security through reinforced arm and chest protectors designed to absorb high-velocity impacts. I was particularly impressed by the extended shoulder floaters, which do a fantastic job of improving puck deflection while providing extra coverage. The lace system at the shoulders allows for precise, adjustable arm positioning, ensuring the gear stays secure during lateral movements. Since these are designed in Canada, there is a clear understanding of the rugged requirements of ice hockey. It feels like a substantial piece of equipment that prioritizes both protection and the mobility a young goaltender needs to stay competitive.

The sheer scale of this bag hits you the moment you see it sitting in the driveway. Measuring a massive 44 by 24 by 24 inches, the Warrior Ritual is designed specifically to handle the heavy, bulky gear load that every goalie dreads lugging around. Instead of straining your back with a traditional backpack style, the integrated wheels turn your massive pile of pads and blockers into a mobile unit that glides across the pavement. The black and grey color scheme keeps it looking professional and sleek, even after a season of heavy use. It is a specialized piece of equipment that prioritizes ease of transport for athletes who need to move a significant amount of protective gear to the rink without the physical toll.
