Pear - a representative of the genus of fruit and ornamental trees and shrubs. Refers to the class dicotyledonous, floral Department, Rosaceae order, family pink, genus pear. Most of the species of pears - deciduous trees. Under favorable growing conditions, the height of the trunk can reach 25 m, and the diameter of the crown is 5 m. wild pear species have a thick pyramidal or rounded crown shape. Pear leaves are wide, egg-shaped, dark green with a glossy top, arranged spirally in 5 rows.
In the wild pear is widespread in Europe and Central Asia, is found in the form of deciduous thickets, but this wild pear gives small and completely tasteless fruit. As a result of successful breeding activities pear tree is grown in the cultural form on the plots. Today the area of distribution of this tree is spread from the Urals and regions of Western Siberia to the Crimea, Belarus, and Ukraine, foothills of the Caucasus, Japan, China, southern and Northern regions of the European continent.
Seed sowing: Preparation should begin in late autumn or early winter. Need fresh seeds from the pear. Carefully remove them, put in a small container, rinse with hot water (but not boiling water!) and spread on a napkin or towel to dry. In a plastic bag pour wet peat or moss sphagnum. Pear seeds must be planted in the soil to a depth of 10-12 cm Package tie and send in the fridge in a container for vegetables. We leave it there until the end of frosts.
Periodically, it is necessary to check that the soil in the package remains moist. After the average daily temperature on the street will be at least 5 degrees, take out the package from the refrigerator and dig out the seeds. Soak them for two days in warm water. The pot is filled with earth ¾ of its volume. The soil can be taken special for seedlings or bring it directly from the site where the future pear will settle.
Seeds laid out on the surface of the soil, top cover with a layer of sand or earth (1-1.5 cm). Water and cover the pot with film.
