Best All Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaners in 2026

Dragging a heavy, cumbersome vacuum up the stairs is a chore I used to dread until I tried this featherweight setup. At just 7.7 pounds, the Eureka Airspeed makes navigating between different floors feel effortless rather than a workout. The 10.5-inch cleaning path covers ground quickly, pulling hair and grit from both carpets and hard floors without much struggle. I particularly liked how the quick-release handle transforms the unit into a handheld tool. Snapping on the included crevice tool or dusting brush makes cleaning window sills and upholstery a breeze. Plus, since the filter is washable, you don't have to worry about hunting for expensive replacements. It is a compact, no-nonsense solution for anyone tired of bulky cleaning equipment.

Weight is where the Shark Rocket wins you over first — just under nine pounds, so carrying it up a staircase or across a couch arm never feels like a chore. From there, the corded motor holds steady instead of fading mid-room the way battery models can, meaning carpets get the same deep clean on the last pass as the first. Pop the wand off and it converts to a handheld for stairs, car seats, and pet hair woven into upholstery, with crevice and upholstery tools included. Swivel steering slides around table legs and corners, and the slim floor nozzle ducks under low furniture. The dust cup empties in seconds, and the hand vac clips to the base for freestanding closet storage.

Dragging a heavy, clunky vacuum through a narrow hallway filled with high-pile rugs and hardwood transitions can feel like a workout you didn't sign up for. The Eureka PowerSpeed changes that dynamic by offering surprising suction power without the typical bulk. I found the upgraded cyclone technology particularly impressive, as it seems to catch everything from large debris to that fine, microscopic dust that usually lingers. Moving between different floor types is seamless thanks to the five adjustable height settings, and the wheels glide over hardwood without leaving any worry of scratches. While you do need to commit to cleaning the roller brush and belt every two weeks to prevent clogs or motor strain, the included crevice tool and upholstery attachments make tackling car interiors and ceiling corners incredibly easy.

The Hoover MAXLife Pro Pet is a heavy-hitting solution for anyone battling constant shedding and dander. This upright vacuum manages to balance raw 1320-watt power with enough maneuverability to weave around furniture and into tight corners effortlessly. What really sets it apart is the HEPA media filtration, which is a lifesaver for allergy sufferers because it traps 99% of particles instead of just blowing them back into your living space. The specialized pet tools and built-in headlights make cleaning stairs and dark crevices much less of a chore. Plus, the XL dirt cup means you aren't constantly running to the trash mid-clean, and the enhanced suction system is designed to maintain peak performance much longer than standard models.

Pet owners living in homes with a mix of carpets and hard flooring need the Bissell Cleanview Rewind to manage the daily chaos of shedding and debris. This vacuum tackles deep-seated messes using a Triple Action Brush Roll that effectively loosens and lifts embedded pet hair from multiple surfaces. I was particularly impressed by the Scatter-Free Technology, which prevents dirt from flying across hard floors during use. Cleaning feels much more thorough thanks to the edge-to-edge suction that reaches every corner of a room. Plus, the automatic cord rewind makes tidying up effortless by wrapping the 25-foot cord for you instantly. It is also heartwarming to know that every purchase supports the Bissell Pet Foundation in their mission to help homeless pets.

Most people assume a vacuum is just a tool for picking up surface debris, but the Dyson Ball Animal 2 actually functions more like a high-tech air purification system for your floors. The Radial Root Cyclone technology is incredibly aggressive at capturing fine dust, while the whole-machine HEPA filtration ensures that once the dirt is sucked up, it stays trapped inside rather than blowing back into your living space. I found the self-adjusting cleaner head particularly impressive because it handles the transition between different floor types without any manual tweaking. For pet owners, the tangle-free turbine tool is a total game-changer for upholstery, and the one-click dirt emptying makes the whole maintenance process feel much less messy than traditional uprights.

Most people settle for bulky, heavy vacuums that lose suction the moment the bin gets full, but the Kenmore Intuition changes that dynamic entirely. This upright feels surprisingly agile at just 14lbs, and the swivel steering makes navigating around furniture feel effortless. What really sets it apart is the Lift-Up feature. A simple button press detaches the handheld unit, making stairs and tight corners much easier to tackle. You won't have to deal with the usual dusty mess of emptying canisters either, thanks to the No Touch Bag Technology that seals everything away for a hands-free cleanup. Even as the bag fills, the PowerFlow chamber ensures your suction stays strong, while the sealed HEPA system keeps your air much cleaner.

The Kenmore Intuition transforms standard upright cleaning into a versatile multi-surface experience thanks to its clever lift-up design. I was particularly impressed by how easily the unit detaches to handle stairs and high-reach areas without the usual struggle of heavy machinery. At just 14lbs, it glides effortlessly using swivel steering, and the LED headlights are a lifesaver for spotting dust under furniture. The standout feature is definitely the No Touch Bag Technology. You can swap out full bags with a single button press, avoiding that messy, dusty cleanup common with bagless canisters. Even as the bag fills, the PowerFlow chamber maintains strong suction, ensuring your floors stay spotless from the first pass to the last.

Why settle for a heavy, clunky upright when you can have a machine that actually adapts to your home's layout? The Kenmore DU5080 changes the game with its clever lift-up canister design, allowing you to pop off a lightweight pod for tackling stairs and high surfaces without the struggle. Under the hood, the 1450.0-watt 2-motor system delivers serious suction power that pulls ground-in dirt from deep within carpets while remaining surprisingly easy to maneuver thanks to swivel steering. It weighs under 14lbs, making it much less intimidating than traditional full-sized models. Plus, the sealed HEPA filtration system is a massive win for air quality, ensuring that 99.97% of dust stays trapped inside the vacuum rather than being blown back into your living space.

The immediate sensation of gliding across a grit-free floor is what makes this Shark VACMOP Pro such a game-changer for daily chores. Instead of pushing dust around with a traditional mop, this device uses powerful suction to pull debris directly into a disposable pad, ensuring nothing gets left behind. I found the spray mopping feature incredibly effective at cutting through stuck-on grime, leaving surfaces with a noticeable shine. Because it is cordless and uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, you can move between rooms without hunting for outlets, and the magnetic charger makes docking a breeze. Best of all, the no-touch disposal means you never have to handle a filthy, wet pad. You simply swap in a fresh one and keep moving.

Why settle for a standard mop when you can steam-sanitize your entire floor in a single pass? The BISSELL CrossWave HydroSteam is a total game-changer for anyone dealing with the relentless mess of a busy household. I found that the HydroSteam technology really earns its keep, tackling those stubborn, sticky spots that usually require a second scrubbing session. It manages to vacuum, wash, and steam simultaneously, which significantly cuts down on cleaning time. The tangle-free brush roll is a massive relief for pet owners, as it prevents that dreaded hair wrap during use. Plus, knowing that every purchase supports the BISSELL Pet Foundation adds a layer of feel-good value to an already impressive, high-performance machine.

Most facility managers struggle with bulky uprights that tire out staff, but the ProTeam Super CoachVac shifts the burden from the arms to the back for much more efficient cleaning. This commercial-grade powerhouse is specifically engineered for high-traffic environments like schools and universities where speed and air quality are non-negotiable. The 10-quart capacity is a massive upgrade over standard vacuums, meaning you spend less time emptying debris and more time covering ground. I was particularly impressed by the 66 dBA noise level. It is incredibly quiet for a machine with this much suction. With its four-level ProLevel filtration and HEPA media, it ensures that the air in classrooms stays clean while the Xover Floor Tool handles low-pile carpets and hard surfaces with ease.

Pet hair has a way of sinking into carpet fibers, and the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser DualBrush is engineered to drag it back out. Two brush rolls work as a team — one agitates debris loose while the other conforms to the surface — so cereal, sand, and embedded fur all lift in a single pass. The HEPA sealed allergen system traps dust and dander inside the vacuum instead of blowing it back into the room, a real difference if anyone in the house sneezes through spring. FurFinder headlights expose roughly six times more hidden fur, and the Lift-Off pod detaches so you can carry the canister up stairs and into tight corners without hauling the entire machine. A genuinely thoughtful upright for homes with shedding pets.

Sanitaire built the Response for people who vacuum for a living, and it shows in every detail. The standout trick is Surface Sense, which uses sonar to read the floor underfoot and dial the brush roll speed up or down — stiff bristles bite into carpet, then soften for hard floors without you touching a single setting. Built-in lights trace the path ahead so dim corners don't hide debris, and the detachable wand with onboard tools handles baseboards and furniture. It's bagless, so there's no bag to keep buying, and the machine stays light enough to steer around chair legs. Commercial-grade motors and tough plastics round out a vacuum clearly made to be used hard, day after day.

Fourteen liters of debris per bag is the kind of capacity you normally associate with heavy-duty workshop machines, and it's what separates this Kenmore from the uprights crowding the aisle. The two-speed switch sits right at your fingertips, so you can ease into gentler suction for bare hard floors and then crank it back up when you hit plush carpet. At under eleven pounds, it's light enough to haul up a staircase without cursing under your breath. The low-profile head slides under sofas and beds, and the LED headlight actually reveals what the roller is pulling up in dim corners and along baseboards. Powerful, genuinely bagged, and built for households with shedding pets.

Pet hair is this vacuum's whole personality, and that's a good thing. The Hoover WindTunnel Swivel Pet pairs a Tangle Guard brush roll that resists hair wrap up to 16 inches with suction Hoover rates at 60 percent stronger than a comparable model, so carpets and hard floors both get a real pass. The swivel steering makes it easy to snake around furniture legs without wrestling the handle, and the lightweight body means hauling it up stairs isn't a chore. Surface litter disappears in fewer passes, which matters when you're chasing crumbs and kibble. The built-in extension wand and specialty tools handle upholstery and stairs too. It's corded, bagless, and ready for a house full of shedding.

A 12-pound upright with a 10 Amp motor is the whole pitch here, and the PowerForce delivers on it. BISSELL built this machine for janitorial crews, hotel housekeeping, and anyone vacuuming the same hallways day after day — the bagged design keeps dust sealed away instead of puffing back into the room, and a three-stage filtration system backs that up. Five height settings and a 13-inch cleaning path let it move from low-pile office carpet to bare hard floors without fuss, while the 30-foot cord cuts down on outlet hunting. The crevice tool, dusting brush, upholstery tool, and extension wand all store on the back. It's practical rather than pretty, but it's made to keep working.

The sheer agility of this 10-pound upright makes tackling a full house feel less like a chore and more like a breeze. You will immediately notice how the wide 12.6-inch nozzle covers ground quickly, paired with a dynamic motor that actually pulls stubborn debris out of deep carpet fibers. I found the five-level height adjustment incredibly useful for transitioning from thick shag rugs to smooth hardwood, where the specialized wheels prevent any worrying scratches. The massive 2.6L dust cup is a total game-changer because you aren't constantly stopping to empty it mid-clean. Plus, having the crevice tool and dusting brush stored right on the machine means you can pivot from floor cleaning to refreshing car curtains or ceiling corners without hunting through a closet.

Can a vacuum actually make your home feel safer for your lungs? The Simplicity S20EZM is designed specifically to answer that question by tackling the invisible battle against dust and dander. I found that the combination of a certified HEPA filter and a dedicated HEPA bag provides a massive advantage for anyone struggling with seasonal allergies or pet hair. It transitions smoothly from hardwood to high-pile carpets thanks to the adjustable height settings, and the 30-foot cord means you aren't constantly hunting for new outlets. It’s a lightweight, corded powerhouse that includes all the essential tools like a crevice tool and upholstery brush stored right on the machine for easy access.

Traditional cleaning routines often fail because you end up just pushing wet debris around the floor with a standard mop. The Shark VacMop Pro solves this by combining powerful suction with a spray mopping system in one single pass. Instead of a messy bucket, this cordless tool pulls dirt and debris directly into a disposable pad, meaning you never have to touch a dirty cloth again. The spray function handles stuck-on grime effectively, leaving your hard floors looking shiny and polished. While you will need to pick up your own multi-surface cleaner to get started, the convenience of the no-touch disposal system makes it a massive time-saver for anyone tired of the traditional mop-and-bucket struggle.

Spilling a bowl of cereal on the kitchen tile shouldn't feel like a major chore, and this Shark Freestyle makes those sudden messes disappear in seconds. I found that the cordless design provides a level of freedom that corded vacuums simply can't match, especially when you're darting between the living room rug and hardwood hallways. The advanced swivel steering is a standout, allowing the wand to glide effortlessly around chair legs and heavy furniture without constant tugging. With two distinct brushroll speeds, you can switch from deep-cleaning carpets to sweeping bare floors with ease. Plus, the extra-large dust cup is a genuine lifesaver, meaning you aren't constantly stopping your cleaning flow to empty debris into the trash.

Families battling persistent allergens and stubborn pet hair need the Dyson DC14 if they want to stop fighting their floors and start actually cleaning them. I was particularly impressed by how the Root Cyclone technology maintains a consistent, powerful suction that doesn't taper off halfway through a room. The motorized brushbar handles transitions between different floor types effortlessly, while the edge-cleaning whiskers ensure that dust doesn't just hide in the corners. It feels incredibly hygienic thanks to the lifetime HEPA filter and the large 5/7-gallon bin, which means you aren't constantly stopping to empty debris. Even the quick-draw Telescope reach makes getting into tight spots feel intuitive rather than a chore.

The Dirt Devil Power Max Pet Upright Vacuum delivers relentless suction that refuses to fade even when the bin is getting full. I was particularly impressed by how the Spin3Pro Premium Brushroll handles transitions. The dual-bristle design effectively agitates deep carpet fibers while still sweeping debris across hard floors without a hitch. It is a lifesaver for pet owners because the integrated carbon filter actually tackles those lingering odors instead of just blowing them around. Thanks to the Endura Performance System's three-layer filtration and that massive XL dirt cup, you spend much less time maintaining the machine and more time actually cleaning. It feels like a heavy-duty tool that punches way above its price point.

The immediate sensation of pulling this eight-pound machine across your floor is one of surprising, effortless agility. Unlike heavy industrial units that drag, the Oreck XL Commercial utilizes a high-speed rollerbrush spinning at up to 6,500 RPMs to agitate deep-seated grit from carpet fibers. I found the MicroSweep technology particularly impressive because it allows you to transition from thick rugs to bare hard floors without fiddling with any manual adjustments. Because it uses a direct suction design, the airflow remains incredibly consistent, pulling debris straight into the bag without the loss of power often seen in cheaper models. This bundle even includes a 25-pack of green bags, making it a ready-to-go solution for high-traffic commercial spaces or busy homes.
