Best Graph Tech in 2026

Most guitarists spend hundreds on pickups and pedals while completely ignoring the tiny piece of material that dictates their tuning stability. This Black TUSQ XL nut from Graph Tech changes the equation by utilizing a precision-engineered man-made ivory that actually works with your strings rather than against them. Because the material is impregnated with PTFE—essentially the slipperiest substance on earth—the strings glide through the slots with minimal friction. During my testing, the most noticeable shift wasn't just how much better the guitar stayed in tune, but how much more harmonic richness and resonance were present in every single note. It is a small, affordable upgrade that unlocks a level of tonal clarity your standard nut likely suppresses.

String binding and inconsistent tuning stability are the primary enemies of a smooth playing experience, which is exactly why the Black TUSQ XL nut is such a game-changer for guitarists.
